As a ant keeper the male elate and female elates mate and the day after mating the male elate dies leaving the queen if you ever see a queen with wings it is either infertile or like my queen one of the few fertile queens to keep their wings queens without wings are more common and the missing wings are a sign of mating.

The queen doesn't need a male or female to produce eggs ( like, for example, hammerheads ( or something like that😅)
However, the queen needs a male to produce a female ant ( without the male, it would be inpossible toget a female) but after the mating process, the male dies😢
That is my explantion on where the eggs come from😊
queen ants actually need to breed but many people say that there is no king ant and its kinda true but the queen ant travels long distances to find a lover and when the queen ant
get pregnant the queen ant will leave there lover and start a colony
EDIT about termites;when a baby girl termite is born the king termite will love the baby girl termite and the boys will give the baby girl termite to the king to breed and also why queen termites have big bellys is because the queen will always make baby termites and also eat a lot and also when the queen termite will not make baby termites anymore the termite workers will kill the queen termite and eat for nutrion
