He’s a very strong person. 😁 I hope Pacifica Northwest stands up to her parents the same way Aaron stood up to his dad, and tells her parents that she is tired of being controlled by them and that she no longer will obey them, similar to what Aaron said to his dad.
I personally do not hate Derek yes he was a bad father at some point for all these things he did for Aaron but if you haven’t watched he begged Zach to keep Aaron alive for aphmau as he said “ he was supposed to marry her , he makes her happy” it kinda shows that he cares for his son and when Aaron was almost turned into a relic Derek pushed him away and sacrificed himself instead
FR I mean everything he did when Aaron was in high school was to keep him safe so he didn’t hurt anyone and feel bad. Yes he could’ve been there more but I think overall he was just trying to protect Aaron especially you can see that in season five and six that he just really like loved Aaron.

Derek may come across as mean and domineering, but I can see his reasonings for this kind of behaviour. Ultimas are dangerous to everyone when they are not in control of their emotions and Derek has been through the experience that Aaron has been through.
But that’s the issue though, when you instead let that fear of thinking Aaron is like gonna turn into some monster like it almost seems controlling, like Aaron still should endure life as freely as anyone. Not be like forced to live a lifestyle where he has little choice, in some ways that can do more harm at times, especially since aphmau was really the balance in Aaron’s life that Derek never knew
Yeah I agree Derek isn’t that terrible of a father. He’s just worried about his son Aaron and the damage that his powers can do. But he does seem to care about Aaron and is trying to control his son because of fear, not because he’s trying to abuse him

I hated Derek up until season 5 when he showed he really did care for Aaron and he was so sweet and fun, I miss him a lot
