Very pleased with how well mine shoots. It doesn't like pressure at all. I had a few handloads that weren't alarming with pressure in my bolt gun at all. But they ripped rims and burred up the head stamp substantially. BL-C(2) max charge 165s & 180s. I have some loads that are a bit under max @ 2600 with 165 BTSP for my youth son to use the SFAR for deer this season. I had 2 groups at 100 that were nice. A 1 moa & a 1.5 moa with shooting sticks and a collapsible hunting chair. He was busting gallon jugs from 75 to 125 from the chair and sticks without a miss. Looking good.
@guardianminifarm8005 do you have the 20 or 16? I head hear similar issues with the hand loads. This is 1 reason why I buy cheap ammo for this. Where is your deer season? I'm thinking about using mine as well.
@@publicdefender77 16" ..... Michigan. I will mainly archery hunt. But my son's will gun hunt. I might if I have tags then. So is the pressure sensitivity an AR thing because of the gas system? The primers are not even flattening in my bolt gun on most of these. I am a good bit under max on some and still beating up the rims and head stamp.
I'm gonna try three different kinds of AAC brand ammo tomorrow on my 16 inch SFAR. I have 180 grain "Power Shock" (jacketed soft point), 175 grain OTM (which I've had good luck with before), and 168 grain boat tail hollow point match (which is surprisingly affordable from AAC). I haven't tried the 168 BTHP before, so I'll have to look at the casings and see how it's running.
Love the SFAR. I also have the 20in. I just replaced the muzzle brake with a Surefire muzzle brake as I am currently waiting on my Surefire RC2 suppressor to come in
Great rifle. I also have the 20". I have grouped mine at 600 meters with Norma ammo and a Vortex Viper PST 1-6x24. Works perfectly fine. The only issue i have is with military non-lead ammo. Everything else works just fine.

The 180 power shoks run great in my 16". I found they rum better unsuppressed. The AACs will surprise you. Best value out there.

@@publicdefender77 It's not steel case. It's some sort of environmental friendly lead free crap. The machine guns don't like it either.
