It was honestly such a good visual representation to show Korra’s spiritual persona as a child who doesn’t know what they’re doing, and then have her find her spiritual maturity after talking with Iroh and helping a spirit instead of fighting it.
Reverting Korra to her childhood state was an incredible move in symbolizing her stinted growth spiritually. The spirit world also best represented her state of mind that she was in - scared, vulnerable, and not knowing what to do. Child Korra reflected those aspects very well and in a way, it also perfectly reflected Korra's mentality and actions during the first half of S2 as well. I also wasn't expecting Iroh to come along and be her guide but it definitely worked out for the best! Afterall, Iroh has always been a man of wisdom, patience, and kindness so he definitely seemed to be the best choice for a spiritual guide. "When you look for the light, you can often find it; but if you look for the dark, that is all you will ever see." And of course, Iroh's still dishing out that tea and wisdom! Speaking of tea, seeing Wan's teapot gave me so much feels! Especially when Korra said "My teapot!" "Sometimes the best way to solve your own problems is to help someone else." IMHO Iroh's definitely talking about Zuko here 😊
I swear y’all are becoming my favorite reactors lately, just honest and emotionally open and intellectual, and your chemistry feeding off of one another is awesome - like Tui and La or some shii 😂 Love your reactions!
Aww this comment just made our day! 🫶 Thank you for being so kind and watching along with us! We are honored to be compared to Tui and La ☯and think that's a pretty fair analogy 😉 Sending all the love + good vibes your way this week!
Can’t imagine anyone who’s not an Avatar other than Iroh to be in the Spirit World. Makes sense as he was always said to be in tune with the spirits and he was the only person who saw Aang and Roku’s dragon as spirits back in season 1 of ATLA.
Iroh told Korra "come visit me again, in this life or the next", so I'm very confident that the creators won't miss the opportunity to make the next avatar meet him🥺🥺
8:52 Wan Shi Tong says "misinformation" here, which means the false information was accidental or unintentional. "Disinformation" means it's deliberate.
19:25 not sure if anyone else mentioned but the original voice actor of Iroh passed after season 2 of ATLA the in memory of Moko in the tales of episode is due to the original VA passing and they got a new VA for season 3 and that’s who voices him here.
This episode has by far my favorite quote from Iroh and is the way I choose to frame my life now. "Sometimes, the best way to solve your own problems is to help someone else" Its such good advice and it really redefines the journey Iroh was on in ATLA.
"your energy is trash" - Dee cracked me up with that one. Korra's outbursts irritate me every time. I like that iroh played a role in helping her learn from that. His face when he saw go full aggro was awesome - like, you're definitely need to channel more Aang.
2:40 because Bumi never had bending and thus trained specifically how to fight without it. Korra and Jinora haven't exactly trained for a "getting de-bended by the Spirit World" scenario. Maybe this takes place after they found the remains of Tarrlok and Amon's speedboat
I couldn't unsee when kid Korra just nonchalantly say, ' I have light inside ' because I saw theory of someone said that she's probably referring to her Avatar spirit, Raava = Spirit of light..
6:22 lol was waiting for this moment. Knew exactly when the waterworks were turning on this episode Great episode. It was good to see Iroh again. Enjoyed your reaction as usual.
Greg Baldwin, the VO for Uncle Iroh (after Makoto Iwamatsu passed away), attributes his line at 10:56 - 11:04 as his favorite Uncle Iroh lines. =^._.^=
Wanshitong is one of the clearest expressions of the blue/orange morality (in contrast to the black/white morality of humans) of the spirits in the Avatar universe, much like the fey in European myth. Spirits aren't supposed to be good or bad, they just are. Their concepts of reality and morality are supposed to feel alien to humans.
@@KevinDPomeroy But Wanshitong dnt even seem like he follows any set of guidelines. I wld have been fine if he displayed a pattern of behaviour that can justify or explain his nature and/or morality. But he just a hypocrite fr🤣 Bro mad about humans using knowledge to use against other humans but is somehow buddy2 with Unalaq who’s against humans?? Huh weird. But then bro letting Jinora browse the library after finding out she’s with the Avatar and wanna close the portals? Like what do bro want? Lmao. The closest explanation i can get is that Wanshitong is just a hypocrite who ultimately just cares about himself and the library. No to conflicts unless it benefits him. No to using his library for evil unless you’re his “friend” then its okay etc. Ozai has a moral guideline. Amon has a guideline. Heck even Unalaq make sense if you see through his eyes. Wanshitong dnt have no guide. Bro is just whatever benefits me good or evil. And f you depending on my mood🤣😭
@@TheGhostUchiha7 Yep. Hence the blue/orange morality system. Beings that embody this framework tend to be seen as petty, kind of like the evil fairy in Sleeping Beauty. From a human perspective it just looks completely insane.
Tenzin could’ve gotten in the Spirit World a long time ago if he just believed in himself and fully accepted himself that he is Tenzin and that’s good enough. Tenzin has so much more potential then his father Aang ever did. But because he tried to be Aang someone he isn’t and put too much pressure on himself and focusing more on his father’s Legacy and not his own Tenzin may never reach that full potential. But we will see a portion of that full potential shown in the Spirit World.
Hey Avatar Meesh and Avatar Dee "Happy Monday". Great episode it's awesome to hear Greg Balwin back as the voice of Iroh. As well Wan Shi Tong. It awesome that Iroh is able to teach Korra on how to control her emotions in the Spirit World. Lol at Dee Korra your energy is trash. But anyway I hope you two have a wonderful day. Stay safe, take care and stay amazing.
Hey Avatar Rob! Happy Monday to you too :) Gotta love seeing Uncle Iroh back and Wan Shi Tong!! lol we love bb Korra and her pot belly. Have a great day/week ahead!! -M&D 🩷
Yes Tenzin HAS Kataras personality. Hot headed, loving, protective. That is why he hated the bending competitions. Aang loved them but Katara was never really a fan :)
Hope you watch Attack on Titan next. It's in the same GOAT level as ATLA. It literally changed my internal chemistry, the same way ATLA affected me. It also parallels in real life situations the same way as ATLA. I am curious about what you guys have to say to it. I'm gonna be here watching with you!!
Would youu react to the comics after finishing the main show? They carry on the story and really flesh out some parts of season 4 that needed it, like Kuveria
Iroh!!!!! This was both a cute and horrible episode.... Korra's face at the end! I wanted to cry with her... This I guess was where she realized she legit could NOT trust her Uncle to be honorable... at anything :/ First trying to "off" her father... and now this... and I thought my family was dysfunctional lol
I would chose to lose my friends would forever. Jinora did say don’t do it Korra. Honors is wiser then Korra is. Rava is wiser than Korra and Jinora. It’s only because of Rava Korra is so wise.
Uncle Iroh is the parental figure we all needed in our lives
Exactly! 🥹🙏🏼

Such a good analogy 🥹 love seeing bb Korra too lol
"korra what happened to my little girl?" hits hard everytime 😭
also baby korra its too damn cute, that belly kills me 💙😂
bb Korra is the best!!
Dee fighting off tears after iroh appears is so real
Literally I can never hold back the tears when I see anyone from ATLA 🥹❤️ -D
I cried HARD the first time I saw Iroh in this episode, and each subsequent time I tear up.

Jinora
Edit: sorry I understood it wrong
@@UnomagKatzenShe didn’t exist in ATLA.

*no spoilers* idk if it’s lore but there’s a theory that wanshitong sank the library into the spirit world which is why it’s upside down
