I guess true artists have to paint no matter their circumstance. I think that’s why you see impressionist paintings of rooftops, crowded parks, trains going through tunnels, people sitting on front porchs, gasoline pumps on roads wo traffic. There is always something that makes you create a story of your own on viewing. That’s why I love Hopper and your work reminds me of his every time I see it. I keep looking for the story for me. I would buy if rich. I like a lot.
watching your videos of you painting has really made me realize thought I should put more effort in planning when I’m painting I usually just draw a quick little sketch and then start painting immediately and don’t think about the colors or the rule of thirds so thank you for showing the whole process!!
I could watch these videos all day, I almost felt like I was right there at the river. I love the suggestive detailing, it gives the painting room to breathe without a loss of perspective. Nice one!
Michael, I love your work. You capture light and atmosphere so perfectly , and your paintings reflect a sort of higher form Impressionism, while your brushwork is loose and yet still so precise. You have inspired me to go outside and paint and the result is a marked improvement in my landscapes. Keep it up, and thank you for sharing your process. You deserve your success and I hope your show is a hit. Apologies for the ‘earnestness’ of my lip service- I am indebted to you and your channel- it’s really helped in my artistic growth
I'm inspired by how you handle the details here. Windows really give me headaches, but yours are so suggestive without being overly detailed. Really nice painting here. Cool that you found the same spot as hopper too. He's one of my favorite artists.
I love ur style of painting , it’s so like minimal but still looks so detailed. When I look at it, it feels like. Nostalgic and like childhood memory or feeling . I love.
No need for "April in Paris"--a favorite song of mine. Your Paris videos are like a golden box of Belgian chocolates--each one better than the last. All of the Seine scenes are gorgeous. Paris is shimmering and simmering. Love the hotel. You deserve it.
@@chamberlainpaintings You have excellent taste. You might like George Shearing, a wonderful jazz pianist. Your videos are special. They always brighten my life.
To be honest, I was in a path that I gave up painting and lost my interest but your channel and paintings remins me how beautiful it was and fun also.. i remember how beautiful seeing a view with all details and putting in a surface... its just so so amazing. There is a lot of artist need to be to remind new generations how beautiful traditional paintings are... just like you... thanks for sharingg..
Great video, the baroque music fit well. It must have been a thrill to paint the same motifs that other great artists painted. The painting looks great. All your Paris paintings look great.
This is so wonderful! I work at an art gallery in Annapolis and we have a plein air painting festival each year. I love learning about artists and their painting techniques. I was fascinated to learn about egg tempera paint this year. It’s amazing to see how different each artist paints the same city, each with their own point of view- like you and Hopper. It’s so cool to learn how you paint! Thanks for sharing!!
I can’t believe it took me this long to watch your videos, Mr. Chamberlain! It’s very interesting to hear you talk about painting because it gives us a glimpse of what goes into your mind and creative process. We love to see it!
I know nothing about paintings but watching your videos is like therapy to me! It hypnotizes me, you’re incredible and it looks gorgeous ! Hope you had a good time in Paris! Lots a admiration from Belgium :)
Love it! I hope you paint more of these Paris scenes from your videos or reference photos. Maybe on a cold rainy day you could show us a studio day painting from a reference photo? Love these paintings and the videos of your trip and hope you and your daughter had a great time!
@@chamberlainpaintings I would love that, whether it’s here or on Patreon! And I think it would sell! Such beautiful and iconic scene(s). Also loving the postcard from studio gallery of your show! It’s on my fridge.
Love the music for this. Paintings here keyed brighter and the light is beautiful. A tube wringer is worth having, if you don't already have something like that. I got to paint yesterday in a vineyard in Georgia. Lovely time. Enjoy your time in Paris!
I’ve been getting more and more into painting over quarantine because I’ve found it to be very therapeutic for me as well as creatively fulfilling! I love Emma’s videos and I love yours as well!!
Hey Mike...glad you're having such a great time!...l can visualize Hopper painting right by that tree and you and him having a great conversation together... you're painting explanations are sooo helpful...cool here 60's great for plein air...
Thanks, Nancy! Painting with Hopper in Paris would be amazing but I fear he'd think I talk too much 😂 Fall on the cape is so beautiful. I should have had Air France drop me in P Town!
These videos are almost like “asmr” but much more calming, like the aspect of keeping in the background noise and just watching u paint, super cool I love throwing it on the tv while I do school work
Mike I love the historical aspect to this and finding another great artists painting spot. Such an awesome location, you are so lucky. The woek is awesome and you have wonderful tonal values in that piece. Well done 😉🍷
I was so excited when you painted the tree in! Hahha, agronomist, and I tought it was so beautiful when you showed the scene. Made me happy. Great paining! Loved the warm light on the building.
It's amazing how you describe everything. I don't know how you do it, it's just really hard to express what you want in a picture with words, but you did it perfectly as in other videos. You're such a great inspiration :)
Very cool! I like how the panel shows through on the windows. I also like the building reflections in the water. Killed another one in Paris! You need a few weeks there next time. Thanks for sharing, Michael!
So cool! Would you consider ever planning a paid group outing in one of the big cities where you paint? Some of us who like plein air painting would jump at the chance. By the way, I had a couple of friends vacationing in Paris, who I had scope you out around the Siene river for a picture - no luck though 🙃
As a french you can’t imagine how happy I am to see a perfectly you paint the city I love the most in the world
Thanks, Matthieu! I would love to stay longer next time. Such an amazing city with so much to paint!

Super cool, dude. (No disrespect intended with the, “dude” reference - in fact, very much the opposite). Well done, sir.

I'm an art student in Paris, and watching your videos here make me remember how lucky i am. Keep up the good work.
Thanks, Lena! Just curious, how do they feel about plein air painting in your art school?
