Freddie Highmore Found Killing People On "Bates Motel" Cathartic | CONAN on TBS
/ teamcoco
Freddie is such an extraordinary talent. I am so happy that his being on Conan's show will introduce more people to Bates Motel. The show is criminally underrated (in my opinion)
I totally agree with your opinion
completely underrated, but that makes it sort of special, doesn it? I mean, it's not like 13 Reasons why or Stranger Things. Dude, I swear I see those kids EVERYWHERE! makes me sick
Comicstelling Isn't that the truth. So many series end with a bad finale, but Bates Motel succeeded in ending with a satisfying one.
Taxatarax 😂😂 finally someone said it! Eleven was pretty much Yoko Ono.
AGREED OMG
He's so quiet and cute but since watching him as Norman it's like a mildly terrifying cuteness 😂😂
He seems so nice of a person now. Fully grown dude. Looks at you when talking, very respectful. He's like that nice computer teacher in your elementary school.
he never made eye contact before? i'm sure that's just his character
My elementary computer teacher was a nightmare
Sarah Beth same
mine too!
well I'm hot for teacher!
I honestly can hardly tell he has an accent anyway. He's so soft spoken. What a great actor though. I hope he gets to do more big roles.
He sounds so unbelievably English and posh!
Mr 3 Machine British actors get trained to speak like that. No one actually speaks like that here, except for some privileged few
Well true, definitely some Rada influence there
his british accent is even more noticeable since when he plays Norman, he has to speak without it. I always knew he was british, but if you see the show without seeing his previous films, you believe this guy is american.
Gnat Foehn You’re right! And now he’s the lead role as Dr. Shaun Murphy in the Good Doctor 😁
Norman : mother.. the doctor has told me that I'm sexually attracted to you
norma :oh it's okay honey , eat your meal before it gets cold.
Elizaveta Miprovska 😂 😂 😂 ya Norman was like tat because of his lunatic mudher
Rani Martinez he was like that because he was sick. Norma didn’t do anything, she loved him because she got raped by her brother, hit by her husband and the only person who was nice to her was her son, she protected him and covered his murders, how can you even think it was her fault. Don’t be ignorant.
@@requiemforanali Norma was also mentally disturbed. She didn't let Norman to grow into his own personality and that triggered schizophrenia.
Red Albatross that doesn’t mean it’s her fault he was a killer.
Norma was very controlling but she allowed Norman to be unwell. It’s really a sad story.
Bates Motel is one of the greatest shows i've ever seen. Binge it if you haven't already!!
Agreed!
Velcro a
Kayleen A. I just finished season 4 on Netflix! Can't wait for season 5 to be on Netflix so I can binge watch it again!
Just finished it today and it only took like a week lol! The last 10 or so minutes left me sobbing
Oh, I'm so excited for the ending! And the middle part! I'm only in season two, just discovered this gem a few days ago & have been binge-watching it since. It's very thrilling.
Absolutely love Freddie. Intelligent, polite, sweet, ridiculously talented in acting - both he and Vera (Norma Bates) are just so underrated. They need more recognition to be honest.
Freddie Highmore is such a good actor, I hope he at least gets an Emmy nod for this role!
MsRandomnotes1 I was hoping as well but NOPE
*I stand with WADA* Yeah i mean NOPE for Bates Motel, and I hope he will for The Good Doctor
He did get a Golden Globe nod for "The Good Doctor."
he exudes such an aura of unpretentious calmness. he is a genuine gentleman, capable of holding any conversation and being gorgeous while doing so.
He's scary good as Norman, I really like the show.
HeikkiP and I really like ur profile picture.🙂
HeikkiP I can tell you like psychological thrillers lol. Nice screensaver. Christian Bale is the man
he's proper cute
when he’s not killing people
No, ESPECIALLY when he's killing people.
How is "proper cute" different from just..."cute"
Roseand Stem It's northern English slang, it's an intensifier like "really" or "very".
sarah He's growing up. Transitioning from 'cute' into (apparently) 'mandorable'.
that momentary silence at 4:20 followed by, " I'm sorry" was perfect timing haha!
"I *_am_* British." He said it almost as if he had to remind himself, cute moment. His American accent in the show is impeccable.
His American accent has gotten even better in The Good Doctor !!
So Charlie resigned from the chocolate factory?
guess he was a 'bad nut' too.
Willy wonka made him willy wonky as he became Norman bates
Culture Shock TV Is Back!
Thank You For Watching!
Peace Be With You!
Mother killed Willy Wonka.
The Blood Factory
.... Oh yea, I completely forgot hes British. That's kind of awesome.
And he speak 4 languages and 5 accents how amazing at the age of 9 i think he spoked france
I really recommend Bates Motel. watch it for the thrill, the horror of it and the remarkable performances by Highmore and Farmiga. another thing that I love about the show is it discusses mental illness from the sufferer's pov, family, friends and caretakers. seriously, if you love Psycho, give this a chance.
old people wouldn't get the new show and young people wouldn't like psycho
When they diagnosed him w/ borderline disassociative disorder, something like that, I was like holy sh 😲 I know someone like that. .. psshh I'm xennial. I watched :/
@@ahhwe-any7434 Yeah, he got diagnosed with DID (dissociative identity disorder) in episode 6 of the fourth season ("The Vault").
(I'm just saying this since you fused DID with borderline [borderline personality disorder, BPD] and differentiating these two might be useful to anyone who reads this).
MOOOTHEEEER !!!!!!!!!
PENNYWISE THE DANCING CLOW hahaahahahahah i can hear him calling norma
NOOOOOOOORMAAAAAAAAAN
Just saw the last episode of Bates Motel yesterday. Solid series, worth a watch
Yeah totally agreed. We power watched the entire show from about mid April this year up to the end. Absolutely loved it. I must admit, I didn't think I would like it but it really surprised me to the point I bought my sister the box set!
agelem I thought it was a good show, but the very obvious incest vibes between Norman and his mother made me stop watching, lol. But I love Freddie on The Good Doctor! (:
breadsticks There never was actual incest between the two. So that js a dumb reason to stop watching a great show.
agelem I just finished it today and I got so attached to Norman. The ending left me sobbing and I’m still not recovering. Amazing series very mature
breadsticks there isn’t actual incest it’s kind of confusing though
If he gets a butler, he have to call him Master Bates.
madman2u is this a downton abbey reference?
+Liza Anual Oh darling, no.
that joke has been used almost 200 years ago by Charles Dickens, sorry
hahah oh ya kill me man! oh too soon?
nope Just Psycho. American psycho is a whole different movie
He is SOOO GOOD in Bates Motel, one of the best acting i've seen on tv EVER! Freddie and Vera both deserve an Emmy for it, no doubt!!
Incredible actor and a lovely show that will be missed
vanoss 11 what's it about? May watch it after i finish catching up ok billions amd better call saul
No-Way Dude I don't know how to properly explain what it's about without giving anything away, but it's really good, you should watch it.
Yeah, it's hard to explain without giving anything away. I would say it's about a young man who has something along the lines of a multiple personality disorder. It's a fantastic psychological thriller.
It's a fcking good show but "lovely" is the last word I'd describe it with😂
bloody good! aha see what I did there
I totally agree with Freddie. It's therapeutic to act crazy , pretend to kill, or be psycho. Being a scare actor for example is beyond therapeutic. It feels so good.
"There is a cathartic quality to stabbing someone in the shower." 😂😂😂😂
I love Freddie, he is talented, handsome, intelligent, kind, educated, the best actor forever. 😍
Half inched on my wedding night made me cry with laughter.
this man deserves at least 2 Emmy's! his work is just breathtaking on the good doctor!
Freddie is so talented. Bates Motel is such a great show.
Jodi Harper love it
THANK YOU FOR HAVING FREDDIE IN THE SHOW!!! I love Bates Motel and his acting is just amazing! Love him since he played Charlie.
I hope he keeps getting good roles in Hollywood
I watch the series since the beginning and what it hook me up, apart from the story was the incredible acting of this guy and Vera Farmiga. It was crazy and I love it.
I love the creepy blank stares he does in the show.
Freddie Highmore is so precious! I'm glad that he's doing a lot more and I hate that I kind of fell off the Bates Motel wagon, but he's seriously such a talent and so pure.
One day wea're gonna look back at this and be like..........I think we missed a sign
Dannie Spokes missed a sign?
that he loves stabbing people
Dannie Spokes ohhh you mean in real life🤣🤣
I'm saving this. Just in case
I don't understand why people didn't watched bates motel... That show was soo spooky and thrilling and the performances by both Vera and freddie was phenomenal... It's just sad 😔
when ever and where ever he is, he always so well behave and calm, I guess he was raised so well by his parents despite him being an actor since such a young age.
I bingewatched Bates Motel during the summer, it just got better and better each season.
S5 is definately my favourite. So sad to see that it's over, but at least they didn't drag it out like they do with so many other shows.
I look forward to seeing Freddie on The Good Doctor ❤
Just finished watching Bates motel I can’t believe I just found it now couldn’t stop watching it! Had no idea Norman was a Brit, he was fantastic!
He's doing Norman so good! I've been awed since the first episode!
Freddies accent sounds like what Americans think all british people sound like
Haha yeah it really is
Well, it's called "Received Pronounciation", isn't it?
We really don't sound like that
's because he's posh
There are so many accent in Britain some of them are very very difficult to understand
That accent I think it's a decent way to speak diplomatically in my opinion.
So amazingly talented and passionate in his role as Norman!!! Love how the cast is all friendly and close with one another. Of course, can't forget how cute he is.
“Mother, what have you done?”
And now he plays a doctor that saves people’s lives. What a switch and it really shows how many different types of characters he can play. Great job!
He should have gotten the awards he deserved. He is genuine talent and the best of his generation. He did an amazing job in Bates Motel.
I love him. He is one of THE MOST attractive people. Im scared that i dont know who i love more - Freddie (for playing Norman) or Norman (for being crazy)😳. Dear lord im gonna end up with a serial killer. help.
Haha! That's so good! :)
Well now you can have both
Janai P LOL😂😂😂
Janai P a
I realized he was improving my health by making my heart accelerate when I laughed and had to gasp for breath. Can't help it that he's making the world a better place by being attractive lol
He's so stinkin' Adorable and innocent!!! He's just as amazing in "The Good Doctor." 😍
i still cant believe its over
I can so see him as a voice character on Archer, a proper mild mannered MI6 agent teamed up with Archer on a case in the danger zone
rambam77 Yes! 😂😂
After watching him on bates motel for ages, hearing his british accent now sounds sooooo weird. Like norman is even more insane and now thinks hes english...
They did a really good production for the the last 2 episodes..I mean, every little details were perfect. Watching it, I get such a serene melancholy feeling...so much emotions. The scenes were so aesthetic and it made me cry so much. It's like the feelings of wanting something to go back to the way it is, but know that in reality it can never will.
I just finished Bates Motel on Netflix. At the beginning I was expecting very little out of this show tbh. Wow was I wrong! Very well written series alongside all incredible actors. Can’t get any better than that! It’s brought me sleepless nights and paranoia that will probably scar me for life but it’s worth it lol
But is Conan talking to Freddie or Mother??????
If he doesn't go down as a critically acclaimed and accomplished actor, it will be a slap in the face to the world of drama. To see him in interviews versus Norman, it's amazing.
Trina Sulita it would very much be a bad thing to drama.
Hopefully he gets an Emmy one day.he seriously deserves it
I love him. He is an incredible actor and did the role of Norman Bates justice. I think Anthony would be proud.
I look at him and all I see/hear is..."the music is all around us...all you have to do, is listen."
After binge watching all the seasons, I feel so disturbed that I wanted to ensure myself that he is a normal person, an actor .
wow he is adorable
i love bates motel. recorded the last episode to watch it on my birthday. its my birthday today :D
Well, Happy Birhthday, then. - About two years ago! :D
When he says "I'm sorry I'm sorry" at 4:27 and look at his face, it shows that he's definitely uncomfortable but obviously not saying it, I find that funny 😂😂. Poor Freddie oh 😂😂
Freddie's voice (with his british accent) is so calm and sweet, it's relaxing 😊🌸
He's grown up so much. Still seems like a very sweet, well-mannered child.
finally!a freddie highmore interview on conan!he deserves it!!!!!!YAAAAS
"There is a cathartic quality to...stabbing someone in the shower." I'm still wheezing omfg
Freddie seems like an awesome young man, well thought out responses & seems respectful. :)
Is it me or are British kids well spoken and mannered compared to Americans ?
Michael Taylor it's just you, majority of the kids over here are little shits and have no respect for others lmao
Michael Taylor he's 24
Michael Taylor stupid asf. lmaoooo this is a grown ass man, lady smh God help these ignorant people
She obviously meant "kid" as in a teenager which is he does look like a teen relax lol
randome osity He's 25 actually.
Im literally crying because freddie is so gorgeous. How is something this cute made?!?!
If you have not seen the series yet, and you've never seen the movie "Psycho" I would beg you to see the film first before you see the series. That way you can get into the mythos of the Bates family.
I love how he doesn’t have to get so deep into the character like most actors do especially with playing roles like this. He genuinely looks at it like he’s playing make believe as a childhood on the playground.
what a well-rounded actor!!! angels are real
Freddie does such an amazing job in this role. He's fantastic.
I’ve never wanted to burst my heart open for this talented human being i LOVE FREDDIE AGGSYWHWHW
I will miss this show so much... one of the best shows i've ever watched :'(
He done an amazing job as Norman, such a talented guy, the show is too underrated
2019. Conan sure can make his guests talk and make witty comments about their answers. Delighted to look back on Freddie's Norman Bates bits.
I literally just finished watching the last three episodes of the last season, like half an hour ago. Home, with a fucked up leg and knee, and decided I had time to finish it. Then I get on RUclips and this uploaded. 😳
Brianna Gordy I hope that your recovery is a swift one.
good luck with that! I saw the finale four days ago and I'm still not over it
100% perfect casting for the role of Norman Bates, he is such a great actor. The creepiness in him is perfect
Freddie simplemente "" ENCANTADOR""❤💋
HES BRITISH???? I LOVE HIS ACCENT WHAT
At first I felt like I've heard his voice before and now I got it, he reminds me of Andrew Scott. They are both very soft spoken.
Freddie makes me laugh :) such a good actor❤️ I love bates motel!
he has a serial killers name. FREDDIE HIGHMORE!!!!!!!!
how is that a serial killer name
He is one of the best and underated actors.
He's very iconic as Norman Bates. Bates Motel is my 2nd favorite show of all time after True Detective Season 1.
i think he really improved over the last five series. he was a bit shaky in season 1 and 2 and his british accent slipped out here and there and but season 3 onward, i think he was truly amazing and got on vera's level. i was actually sceptical going into season 5 bc i knew there'd be less vera but freddie really pulled it out of the bag. he was phenomenal! and ofc vera, too, as MOTHER.
such an great series.
Brilliant. Catharsis is amazing when used in a more creative way than destructive. I am an artist and it feels so good to be able to put that energy into what it really needs and thrives on. I can't wait to see this show, "a good doctor"! I might even get cable tv again ;)
I like Freddie Highmore. I find him delightful on Bates Motel and The Good Doctor
Conan, It's been a while since the last remote section... that is the best part of the show man
Just finished Bates Motel, what an emotional ride that was ! People need to watch it !
whenever someone asks me how much I loved the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory movie, I say "It's great!" in my best Charlie Buckett impression. Haha
Freddie always makes me feel more comfortable with being soft spoken and mellow. There are few people I know as actors and in my everyday life who I feel a connection to in that way. If that makes any sense...
I was waiting for this, for so long
Best part is 4:17 😅 😂 😂 I love you Conan O'b... kind of wish you where my friend
I’ve been waiting so long for season 5 of Bates Motel to be on Netflix, so close now!
Had no idea this guy has an accent in real life.
Great show though!!!!
same thing with costar Antonia Thomas from good doctor also. saw her on an interview and she also has an English accent
He’s such a good actor it’s so unreal
When he smiled 😍❤️ you got my heart.
I love him in " Finding Neverland".
I didn't know the tradition when a US show finishes is for actors to take things from set. I thought it was to do another 50 seasons.
Such an awesome actor and young man. Love The Good Dr. Will have to catch Bates Motel...
Freddie is so cute!!
I would never have thought he was British. He is an amazing actor
He is sooooo awkward I love it!!!!!! His accent is soooo cuteeee!!😍😍♥️😂😂😂
