Please try a team game without the teams locked, but with the win still based on those who are teamed at the beginning of the game. That way, people can ally or neutral others from other teams. It would allow to have a Portughese player make feitorias for a pocked-player who to gather tens of feitorias and send the resources to the other players so they don't need as much of an economy, or any economy at all, so they can have bigger armies, to overwhelm the enemy. Especially useful on bigger maps. Edit: Not locking the teams means you can convert the buildings of your allies, which could be used for other purposes, too.
Someone in the chat asked if there was a Finnish civ. How cool would it be if you could play as the Sami people? Their eco bonus could be the ability to herd deer like cattle! :D

The main problem is pop space no? Pretty much 200 all game but Ethiopians don't have anything tanky apart from siege, so 1 Paladin is I guess as effective as 5 shotels. Be interesting if 300 pop limit

No infantry unit, not even halbs can kill a paladin 1-on-1. When you are playing a cheap unit comp like shotels / halbs / etc, you need to spam barracks and flood the battlefield with reinforcements. Obv. Viper knows this, I think he was just experimenting around and trying to have fun with meme strats. Probably also why they didn't wall their trade.
increasing pop wouldnt make a difference
Increasing pop of course makes a huge difference, especially if a player is pop capped half of the game and ends up losing anyway. And also especially if producing solely shotels which only come out of castles

The villager pathing that you pointed out seems to be a serious problem lately. Also have had them bug out when building gates a few different times. =(
A nice, long teamgame. Persians, Teutons and Mongols, the Chinese team had better civs. And also Max and Viper probably didn't make their strongest compositions. I always enjoy some 4v4 action.
shotels are good against a lot of things except cavalry. shotels + halbs + skirms should be good combo.

Viper, Tatoh, Daut, Slam, Nili & Jordan, those were the AoE members of Team Secret (global esports brand), they left the "Team Secret" but the 6 of them plan to stay together as a team, they are gonna see whether they make a deal with a new company or if they stay independent

The player located in between his team mates in a team game they tend to boom and join the party later on. ( I hops this helped :))
