- Mr. Krabs and Sandy may not be who you think they are when watching SpongeBob SquarePants. Today we're looking into the surveillance theory and figure out if Krabs and Sandy are really spying on Bikini Bottom residents. That SpongeBob episode with the green son is actually wild because it confirmes that the Bikini Bottom residents aren’t just stylized fish (like what was clearly originally intended) but weird humanoid mutants. I don’t know how I feel about that
Man that has gotta be one of the craziest episodes that could really mess up a kid, I could see it messing up me as a kid cus even a simple episode like that one where they get out of water to prove to sandy that they can breathe and they're just props on a stick, that messed me up a bit

And let's not forget Mr Krabs canonically was a marine in the war whatever war that was in the Navy. This means not only is he profiting from the fallout but he has mingled with government and military stuff before

The bikini atoll theory was actually debunked by Alex Bale because in episodes like “Ugh” and “SB-129”, we get a clear view of prehistoric bikini bottom and that these man-like sea creatures have always existed long before the 1940’s.
Yeah, but that could also mean that Bikini Bottom just evolved later in time
@@themememaster6775 Actually no, we know characters ages and there are some characters that existed prior to the nuclear explosion and had parents who were also similar to them. For example, Squidward was born in 1977 while the series itself starts chronologically in the year 2017 as shown in "SB-129", and he had an ancestral tree. This ancestral tree can be seen in episodes like "Pest of the West" in which we see the Great Grandparents of our modern day characters. Squidward, Patrick, Spongebob, Sandy, and Krabs all having them. They act identical to our current day characters but are their Great Grandparents meaning they were born between the 1700-1800s. Long before the nuclear bomb, thus the theory is completely false.

if you are looking at this through the theories perspective, for the fish, comparitivly, shortly after the nuclear testing would be closer to Ugh time period when they first started to mutate into sentient amthro fish. fish typically live much shorter lives than we humans, (3-10 years depending on species) giving time for them to evolve to the state they are in by modern day. besides, we have proof of them filming the series in world from multiple episodes and specials.
I remember hearing a theory a couple years ago (maybe here on YT) that Sandy is simply a researcher in this anthro universe. Mr. Krabs being so successful in capitalist bikini bottom is a key figure in gaining evidence and samples of undersea behavior, and he collaborates with Sandy in a classified manner for a price. So it’s cool to see this expanded upon in this video.

This is an interesting theory, but we know the bikini bottom citizens are not mutated from radiation, as we've seen their ancestors multiple times. Think back to the squidward time traveling episode, where squidward meets the ancestors of Spongebob and Patrick
And also the episode dunces and dragons . Where they bring back Squidward ancestor after traveling back centuries ago

There's also that episode where Mr. Krabs tasks spongebob and squidward with finding the few people who had never been to the krusty krab. Maybe that's why he's doing surveillance. Like a super agressive cookie finding out what they do and what they like so he can sell them more stuff. edit: WAIT. I just remembered mr. krabs said he was in the navy. What if he was stationed there as a sentient lobster to do surveillance and help the navy keep tabs on what the sea creatures are like in the aftermath and frenchy is his commander.

As much as all of these theories are just for fun, it would be interesting if someone created a kids show with the intention of sparking a bunch of fan theories on purpose.
While the nuclear bomb theory doesn’t work when you consider other episodes that show the past, it’s fun to point out that Spongebob’s favorite explosion stock footage is from the Baker test bomb set off during Operation Crossroads. These tests happened at Bikini Atoll.

This is further emphasised by the fact that the Krusty Krab training video is literally one of the episodes. It’s just the Truman show, and Mr Krabs and Frenchy are just Ed Harris’ character
