When we gutted our kitchen and redid it, we ran into some unexpected issues and needed to wait months for those things to be fixed. All of our kids were still living at home. It took a full year before it was complete. It was so worth it. I think it was the worst room in the house to redo since it's so lived in. Many of your tips, I did and it helped.
This is a really helpful video, thank you! We renovated our kitchen ten years ago and still love it. For appliances, we chose a panel ready dishwasher which blends seamlessly with the cabinetry - best decision. We also integrated extra storage in the toe kicks of the cabinetry for cookie sheets and other large items. One thing I would have done differently is choose a lighter coloured countertop. We went with a medium grey Caesarstone Quartz called “concrete” and it shows everything - dust, water spots. Also keep in mind that quartz is not indestructible. Even with good care it can still get chipped. Completely agree with Jennifer’s comments about the glass top range - shows everything and requires lots of cleaning.
We did ours ourselves. Talk about a headache. I designed it, my husband implemented it. Even built the cabinets. It was not for the faint of heart!! Totally worth it in the end! I don’t recommend most people do their own kitchen remodel though! We happen to be gifted in this area, but it was still a lot to juggle!
Love, LOVE your flooring!!! So pretty!! Your kitchen colors are almost identical to what I want to do to mine. I'm thinking maybe going just a touch more towards a very pale greige almost white with the blue-gray-blackish island. My goal is to replace the island so it is all large pullout drawers and do a few upgrades to my remaining existing cabinets. Still haven't decided about counter tops, so I really appreciate all the info you gave about those!!! You have such a beautiful home!!!!!
I have shaker style cabinets and love them! So love your kitchen but the hidden pantry is to die for! Wow! Love the quartz counter tops and wish I could change to white as I have black granite and they look new! But wish they were white!🙃😛😅Then I could do island black!😱
Jennifer this has been very helpful to me as we are in the final stage of choosing our kitchen colors and countertops. I’m curious what is your white paint chosen for the cabinets? Where did you find the long and wavy subway tile? Thank you.
I would like to see your old kitchen… I would need to take down the dining room wall also. My kitchen is small. Do you still have a dining room??? Great tips and good information. Thanks.
We are getting ready to redo our kitchen. Thank you for sharing your tips. Would you please tell me the brand and name of the counters you picked. I Love them. I really enjoy your RUclips channel
Moving back in - hopefully you have decluttered as you packed up, but now DON'T put EVERYTHING back. 'Shop' through your boxes as you unpack them, only putting back things you would actually buy if you were setting up house for the first time (only now you have insight from your lived experience). Leave the rest in the box for now & clearly label what is left in it. Live without the additional clutter, easliy change your mind about the best places to locate items & retrieve additional items from the boxes if you feel you need/want to - don't be in a big hurry to get it ALL back in. ❤
Love your videos! I want to do the fake stone project in my kitchen...can you give me any ideas of how to do the transition fron the kitchen to the living room it the same wall and i have no idea of what to put at the end of the backsplash
Thank you so much Jennifer, great video. My husband and I are going to have our kitchen renovated so this came at the perfect time. Your kitchen turned out beautiful! Blessings to you.
We gutted the oak kitchen that came with our house immediately when we bought it in 2010. Took it all out. Replaced with granite counters, maple cabinets and stainless appliances. We've then had to replace the new range, new refrigerator and new dishwasher.A few years ago, we painted all of our new cabinets in a creamy off white color. We love it! One of my "friends on youtube has a BEAUTIFUL kitchen and she did all drawers on her lowers. It gave her great, easy and accessible storage. My current favorite counters are Cambria Berwyn.

Hi Jennifer - Just beautiful. Thank you for sharing. Would you provide the details (brand, model, etc.) on your kitchen faucet? Thank you again.
Hello, question about the porch vinyl rug. Was that something you made or something you purchased?
Your videos are wonderful
I absolutely love your new hairdo!!!
The microwave is a lifesaver during a Kitchen reservation:)
Thank you, Margaret!

Do the lights fixtures over your island provide enough task lighting?

Ok Jennifer … I remember that you did have a video of the old kitchen and I found it. 😊

And how do you keep the vinyl from flying away
