Surfing those waves with a 9.9 horse, you are literally being pulled back as the waves push past beneath you in the direction you’re desperately trying to travel. The 25 horse upgrade makes the task less nerve wracking unless you use up your fuel and are almost out in the trip in to Forked River, from Oyster Creek, then the pucker factor returns! Nice thing about 25hp in a 16’ John boat, you can accelerate so rapidly from a dead standstill or wind drift, plane out and be at full speed in 100’ or less, strap down your gear though, or you’ll be missing most of it!
Several years ago I happened to see someone attempting to navigate it in a rented outboard boat. Ai least they were wearing life jackets. Even had kids aboard. IDIOT!
I went in and out of that inlet a few times many years ago. Back then you had ignore the channel markers and steer around the breakers. That inlet is man made and always wants to fill itself in.
@@walterdavis4808 oh wow-pick and choose the nicest days go for a spin.most of us Northern boaters don’t have that opportunity.that’s awesome.trick is having weather cooperate.
Merry Christmas & A Most Joyus Holiday To All : You definitely got a nice trailing sea & ROLLERS out there from the blender into the inlet. I just wanted to take a second & thank you guys for all the videos & your dedication to your craft. Every video you gentleman do always brings a smile to my face. Thanks again guys , TMP from N.J.
My dad used to take me fishing on the bay and the ocean thru that inlet. He knew that if I was along he didn't have to buy chum. :-)
