Hey I have a question for you. Do you know how added attack weight (ie: Barber S3, Donki S2) decides what targets to pick? I originally thought it went by speed order, but then it would randomly target the 3rd speed character while I was targetting the 6th speed character with a 3 attack weight skill, and then I thought it might have worked like egos where it prioritizes untargetted skill slots at the time of targetting, but then it would hit different targets. I'm probably overthinking this, but I can't find a definitive answer anywhere, or at the very least I'm not looking in the right places. Does targetting and speed order change based on focused encounter vs normal battles?
I don't know how its decided for normal fights, like luxes. Usually those are just winratable anyways, and you can't change targets anyways, so I don't bother thinking about maniping things there. However for Focused encounters, yes, you can v easily manipulate where Weight gained On Use moves to. The game will prioritize in this order: first is enemies with the least number of attacks directly targeting (Solid lines, not dotted lines) them. Then it looks at enemies from left to right. So for example, at the butlers, when I am looking at Outis' S3, I aim for one of the 213 HP Male butlers, who are in the back. This is because I know that the two maids in front (on the very left) will get hit by the added Weight when I use S3. If I target one of the maids in the front, the weight will instead go to the other maid, and then the bulky elite maid who is third from the left. If I wanted to make it so that one of the maids does not get chosen by the added weight, what I will do is stack 1-2 defense skills targeting the enemy I don't want to hit, this way the game sees that there are too many direct targetting attacks on that enemy, and it will not prioritize them for the added weight. I'm not sure if this is super clear, so I'll make a video on it. But generally that's how it works.
Chef Ryoshu has a lot of convienent effects for the comp. Her S1 has 1 guaranteed Bleed Count, which helps round off some numbers to preserve the bleed stack. Her S2 can apply 3 Bleed Potency, but even if it doesn't, so long as you've been keeping up your bleed stack it applies 2 debuffs for Ring Yi Sang consistency. You can get these benefits from using N Faust too though; but the main deciding factor was her S3. Its one of the strongest skills in the game, only outpaced by like LaMancha Don S3, Wingbeat, and a maxed out Wild Hunt S3. However unlike the others it has practically no conditions to be the strongest, making it one of the easiest nukes to work with. I am using Contempt; Awe right now, but I plan on cutting it in the future if possible. Wild Hunt is a v strong ID, and there is the argument that I could probably run him over Chef, but his S3 damage is more unreliable and he doesn't set up Yi Sang and Don as well, because he doesn't contribute to the stack or to any debuffs. I don't think he's a bad alternative, but I think that he's just relatively inconsistent, you need perfect RNG for damage on the kill turn for portrait, he doesn't even really speed up the butlers that much, just makes it so that Outis doesn't need to see the 2nd S3 early, and the payoff isn't even that much more considering he and Chef Ryoshu have similar damage on Nelly (~340). Its a lot of extra work and inconsistency for an ID that probably doesn't even speed up the part of the run he needs to speed up.
11:01 thx don well nice rolls

@@oiprocs5931 thank you, this has been super insightful :)
Why chef ryoshu over rep ryoshu or something like erlking heath?
looks like chef ryoshu was for that insane skill 3 and easier access to wrath to fuel contempt, awe
And chef can make more kinds of debuff for ringsang skill 2
I think memorial procession is not as important as contempt awe, and her s3 deals way too much damage
