- I Tried AlgoExpert for 30 days. During the process, I completed various technical interview questions testing my algorithm skills, dived into the data structures crash course, and even participated in a mock interview. After completing the 30 days, I reviewed the product and give my opinion on if AlgoExpert is worth the buy.

That's the spirit, after 23 days we can see that you're definitely a better programmer, look those eye-circles and messed up hair. Great job :)
I didn't know AlgoExpert before, good to know
Lmao
good one!
RUclips recommendation sent me here. Great review! I’ve never used the platform, but would consider it if I felt the need. Oddly enough, I’ve worked on Web apps since 2000, never mastered any DSAs beyond the simplest stacks and queues, and never had a problem finding work. I have also failed three out of the four FANG companies’ coding interviews, made it to the last stage on two of them. Go figure.
I’ve had a lot of non-DSA styled interviews. However all for non FAANG companies
Just found your channel, and I love your video styles. Keep up the programming grind
Soooo goood!!!, thanks Kenny. Regards from México.
This is great. The only negative part here is that you need to spend a lot of time to prepare only for the coding interview. I have been through this process and I passed the coding interview but didn't make it because I couldn't convince the interviewer that I worked on large scale projects involving multiple machines and complex distributed systems. I didn't need to spend that much time on coding interview prep and paying $100 for one year shouldn't be a problem for most people who already have a job. I think the only problem is finding time to practice. You need to spend a lot of time researching the team you are going to work with, and practice how to show that your personality, experience and knowledge fit with the job description and the organization culture. The coding part is much less than 20% of the whole interview process.
Dude, it sucks so much. It's literally like having a second job just to prepare for an interview, which sure I understand as the pay bump can be significant, but it's extremely hard.

Awesome content Kenny !
I am going to get AlgoExpert for sure thanks for the video! Are you doing any lifting videos?
You are looking jack and stacked!
Also you triumphantly exceed all expectations the second you came into this world! I love you son! So proud!
Another Banger! Thank you
Impressive video and the time you put into the AlgoExpert software.
In 30 years of working in the industry, I have NEVER had to come up with an algorithm from a text book where I shouldn't look at the text book. I have on a rare occasion had to code an algorithm that wasn't already in a library but was in a text book. I find these skills to help you interview are a sign that the company interviewing like this doesn't know what it takes to do the actual job.
It depends what kind of programmer you are. If you are designing a React Front end for a time entry system it is vastly different from someone trying to reduce bandwidth on videos.
I agree with you but there must be some pretty good reasons that companies like google hire in this manner. A trillion dollar company would probably put tens of millions of dollars into finding out the quickest and most efficient way to find the most qualified people for the job.
You've clearly never interviewed at a FAANG company.
@@curtisg8399 Yes, there is a reason and no, it's not good. I think most everyone knows the reason, but just in case you can't figure this out without help, it's because they have far more applicants than they want so they have come up with a way to eliminate candidates that avoids EEOC detection and seems plausible. To test if you have picked the most qualified, you'd have to define what is meant by most qualified and then run a control group to see if the test achieves the measurement. They have not done this nor have they spent tens of millions doing this. Don't be a FAANG apologist.
I am here because of Clement's Linkedin feed, Good Job Kenny Ackerman.
Lmao, thank you 🙏

You deserve way more subs and views, watched a couple of your vids now and think you make good content
The effort that this guy put on his video is amazing.
What beautiful car, man! nice tips too!
Thanks for sharing Kenny. Nice car by the way!
Thanks for your opinion and review of AlgoExpert! Nice video and you deserve more subs. Keep it up
Thank you!

Love the fact that this man is real af
I saw River Sizes as an exercise in the video and it reminded me of the fun I had working on it. Did you find at times the hard questions were just as easy as some of the medium/easy ones? Good review! and cool car in the backdrop.
River sizes is one of my favorites! I never made it to the hard questions. Sometimes it did feel that the medium questions should've been easy & vice versa. But overall I'd say they did a pretty good job at pacing out the difficulty
Thanks Kenny, you put in a whole lot of useful info 👍
Great video.
As you said, smashed that like button and subscribed
this man is very down to earth. Love the way he explain every thing.
Probably buying it very soon just been getting some money set aside and it really seems worth it. This video definitely comfirms
love the intro already haha
At the end of this semester, I plan on doing a similar quest during my summer break.
First video I ever found with full explanation of each and everything section and how it works on algoexpert...
Nice 👍
Your new subscriber
Another great video. :)
If you're a great front end and backend programmer, how does this benefit the average developer? I understand DS is more to test your problem solving skills but unless you're thinking of implementing your own framework or programming language, how is this beneficial for anyone else?
How am I 38 seconds in and already cracking up
Nice going man, idk how I feel about algorithms cause I am weak at em, here I am holding a CS degree and living on basic pillars of oop paradigms lmao xD
Never heard of it. Thanks for the review. That are only numerical problems, right?
as self taught
do I need to learn datastructure and algorithms theories before purchasing algorithms expert in your opinion ???
Should you not take a mock at the beginning and then one at the end for a better look at progress?
What language are the instruction videos done in for Algoex?
Which of the Algo Expert bundles did you go for ?
I am having difficulty picking one
I'm in the beginning of a coding bootcamp, would it be too soon to start on something like algoexpert? Or should I try to see if I can understand some of the stuff on there to get a headstart on preparation for interviews in the future?
I recommend being fairly comfortable with a programming language before focusing on DSA. However, AlgoExpert gives you a year access so that's plenty of time even if you focus on language fundamentals for a few weeks/months.
Cool! Do you have any discount from your channel for AE?
I wish 😭😭
So cute! Love this ❤️
Are you hitting on me?
@@kennygunderman best response 😂
I love the fact that he rubs me of as an "average IQ" programmer. Which inspires many people to say, "if he's average, so am i! And im able to learn code too!"
+1 for "I am starting to kind of hear Clement's voice in my sleep, teaching me data structures and algorithms". Happening now with me as well.
How are you doing now? How far did you get in Algoexpert?
I am from India big fan of u bro ....
Make a video on python begginers
Hey Kenny I have no knowledge of DSA but I can code should I buy it or learn DSA and then buy just to practice questions
Hello rising youtuber ,you will become popular soon.
You’re making me blush ☺️ ☺️
@@kennygunderman 😁😁
How good was your DS and algo prior to starting this?
prolly like a 4/10. I may have been able to squeeze by a FAANG interview if I was asked a relatively easy question.
My main fear in buying Algoexpert is it only trains you to answer 110 questions and in interviews they can ask you pretty much anything from data structures and algorithms. Thanks for the video.
Learn principles. Don't try to memorize solutions to every possible question.
Cool recommended 👌👌
Game idea: take a shot everytime he says Algoexpert
Thank you for the video
Just helping ya grow
yo for mock interviews though use pramp though. It is supreme or at least I used it several times and it was very effective.

Yeah I need some platform to practice sql

Dope car mate.
Right now, algo and systems expert is available for $54. So should I go for it?
Nice video
I have 0 knowledge in programming Field and want to develop skills for coding. Should i buy algoexpert ? thanks
Honestly, I'd say wait. I think you should learn the fundamentals of coding (conditions, loops, etc) understand object-oriented programming & understand how memory works in relation to code. I'd say this is the bare minimum before diving into DSA
@@kennygunderman Thanks for ur quick response n suggestion. It means grab the prerequisite and then dive into DSA.
@@samratchapagain4804 yessir, good luck!
@@kennygunderman I am middle age, 33 and I am learning programming self-taught, so not in a good position, am I? lol. Do you think I should hire an online mentor/tutor for about 6 hours a week? And If I get algoexpert as a curriculum? I know bare basics. Or if you're familiar with cs50, I am in week 2.

As a selftaught i have one problem, all that algorithm crunshing puts ur mind into a box without even the attempt of exploring own ways. In my experience it will help you to get all that on your own. The question is, would i take a job at google. Speeding up A process isnt an equivalent to speeding up my process. When i just imagine how much i learned due to just thinking about certain problems, which made me a real problem solver. Dont get me wrong, but easy and fast isnt allways the profitable way in the long run.
Umm, if you have your own optimal solution, then there is no problem. You're probably just butt-hurt though.
what's the difference between algoexpert and codingame ?
did you just do all of the easy/medium problems in order? I feel like there are so many questions i don't really know where to start.
Yessir, I did all of them in order, I feel like it helped me slowly ease my way into it

What's the story behind Алёнка on the bookshelf? I JUST NEED TO KNOW
At what level of programming competence would it make sense to start it?
Level 27
Sorry bad joke, I’d say a couple months of learning the basics: conditions, loops, memory, arrays, object oriented programming and you should be good
How does this compare to hacker rank?
4:10 which is that calendar?
Yo, is that a Alyonka up on the shelf?
Saw Clements video now i know how this video ends
Can you sign up in algo expert without learning any language yet
I wouldn’t recommend learning algorithms if you don’t know any languages yet
How much time did you spend on average for each questions of each level?
Did you use a timer?
Thanks
Depends on the problem really up to an hour for some. I didn’t use a timer, I focused on really understanding/solving the problem. Didn’t want the extra stress of a ticking timer
@@kennygunderman Thanks Kenny
I love the car
Are you able to share why the interviewer said no? Did he give you constructive feedback?
He did, that part was mostly a joke though. the feedback was along the lines of how I could come up with a more optimal solution around space complexity
The only draw back it is for one year not for life time
Kotlin for the kulture!
