The dark glitch level is because all of the boo circles at the top take up the light limit of mario maker (yes that's a thing.) It takes about 64 boo circles to do

@@lazynine9514 One of these days, I need to stop merely watching Ryu (and Larl) play... and try it myself! 😁 I love 'troll' maps, as long as there are checkpoints and they're short (hate repeating LOOOOONNG stretches of the same shizz though).

12:10 SMM2 has a bug where if you overload the level with too many light sources, the level goes completely dark. As you can see from the level's preview, the level creator put tons of Boo Rings into the level, as each Boo Ring consists of eight separate sources of light, and if you put too many of them in a level, the lighting system breaks. Also, this bug does not affect the level creator, so the creator was able to play the level with lights on.
I recommend not making these kinds of levels, because Nintendo is known to remove levels with glitches in them, and this might risk your maker account.
This bug does effect the creator when uploading it, but it dosent effect you in the editor. Whe i was going to upload a level with this bug it was completly dark when clear checking it so, if you want to upload levels like this it is completly dark, so yeah it does effect the creator cause i tested that.
But when he got the moon, shouldnt the lights turn back on because there are so many less light sources? Or were there still too many for the lights to turn back on

I've played that one at 10:38 about 2 months ago, damn it was totally bin-worthy lol. The strange thing is that, I beat it so the user or someone else either duped or even re-posted his own level again to reset the clear rate hahaha. So garbage lol
I always wondered if this would happen, I had a level that was made within the first month of Mario maker 2’s release and it didn’t get beaten by anybody for so long. It wasn’t even that hard and I thought it was pretty cool. Eventually I got frustrated that not a single soul in the entire world had ever beaten it so last year I gave the code to a small streamer and he beat it in like 6 tries. The streamer even said that he really liked it, to this day nobody else has even touched it, and I dunno why. I kind of wished that I had kept it unclear so it had a higher chance of ending up on someones uncleared level series but oh well.

I am now convinced ryu is an experimental problem-solving/platforming ai tasked with massively raising the clear rates of levels in Super Mario Maker.

The crazy bomb bowser level only required you to jump off yoshi to the area above to get the key out of the question block :D

It wasn't the intended strategy with the bomb for the key. Wall jumping was, it was right above where you found the red Yoshi that you fired killed Bowser with lol.

I'm no expert but my guess is the reason he has 100s of boos atop that dark stage is the reason it's working. Boos have their own light, so he's probably trying to overload it so that the game can't load Mario's light.
I'm probably way off though, that's just my guess.

Fun Fact: When Nintendo remade Super Mario Bros. to be sent to the west, they changed the upgrade of the fire flower to always give you fire power instead of just make you big. That later became part of the main function in all releases.
They did that because they thought people in the west are dumb and not good at video games.

I just realized. If you throw or kick a bomb into a wall it stops at the wall. But if bounces off your helmet it also bounces off the wall. What a weird physics design.

Lights out! The screen is now totally dark, and players will have to use the light of fireballs or a Super Star to find their way.
But you know about night mode in it's common uses like gravity and turning suns into moons. Guess it works in ghost houses too!
