      @erwefgdfgzsfz It's all wrestling, and based on related grappling. Too many styles are looked at with concrete borders between them when in truth they have the same roots. All these guys can switch over or blend it all. In the U.S. I've been watching and listening to people compare and often discuss how "this style beats that (usually Jiu-jitsu and wrestling and vice-versa) etc. etc.." and it always comes back to the same logic. It's related and everyone borrows technique and nobody can tell which is "better" but claims to know. I wrestled since I was 6 years old back in the 1970's, and every style has changed and has it's own qualities for different purposes. I watched the public reluctantly learn that wrestling was valuable in fighting, because they had forgotten and the U.S. had ruined wrestling by making it fake decades ago for entertainment. Then I watched them misunderstand what style could help with fighting and they assumed the freestyle guys, who had the best international credentials and best takedowns, would be best however the old U.S. style of "Folkstyle" or "schoolboy" wrestling actually helps more since you have to try and escape and scramble more, with transitions resembling realistic situations. I tried to tell many people online and everywhere since the 1990's that fact but they just stayed too academic. Now it's obvious I was right but they don't remember and don't care. Folktyle came from a very old, less- brutal style called "Catch wrestling" which was based on ancient leftover European Pancration mixed with some Judo, Jiu-jitsu and other grappling from Japan. You go back thousands of years and that Japanese wrestling and Jiu-jitsu has roots in India and Persia. So it's all related. The styles have mixed and matched too many centuries to know what's "better", since they are related. They need each other. To this day, Jiu-jitsu guys in the U.S. don't even remember they got some serious takedowns from me when I used to train at their schools, and they just call ALL of it "Jiu-jitsu", which isn't fair to wrestling. They were far better than I was at submissions, but they couldn't take me down to save their lives back in the early 2000's. Even the black belts had trouble and some couldn't take me down or keep me there at all. Now they don't even know what they took from me, and I am too injured from an accident to train anymore.

      Tripping is allowed?

    • @AR-ml9eo
      @AR-ml9eo 5 лет назад

      @@majinkenshin911 - Yes in freestyle tripping or sweeping is allowed and is common. It's not allowed in Greco-Roman. Intentionally stepping on a foot to trap is not allowed because of the danger of injury. However, accidentally stepping on an opponent's foot in an attempt is not necessarily penalized. It has to be pretty egregious for a penalty. It's like hands in the face, there is a grey line between the inevitable unintentional and the egregiously hand in face.

    great job india, keep it up, this us wrestler is just spinning on the math, no concept of what freestyle wrestling is about. we don't even call that wrestling in iran

    • @lasvegasloner4621
      @lasvegasloner4621 5 лет назад +1

      That's not entirely the US wrestler's fault-- we have to learn folk style first in many places of the U.S.. It's not always available depending on what part of the U.S. you live in, so if he has very few years freestyle or has to SHARE brain cells learning both which is often the case, it harder to catch up to the styles you have done all your lives in Iran.
      When I was a kid in the 1970's, I had NO freestyle trainers, but we wrestled folk style. It all depends on the history of the area and we can't help it if wee were born there. Besides, folk style is NOT a bad thing, believe me. It transitions to fighting even better than any freestyle since freestyle is more like a game. Folkstyle is actually closer to a safety-version of catch wrestling, which is what was left of the grappling style of old Europe's pancrase and Japan's Jiu-jitsu/Judo combined and shared in the 1800's. Before that of course many styles were lost to constant civilization rises and falls.
      Ancient Persia were you are from had the earliest wrestling known so far, which is really fascinating to me, but the freestyle you see today is not my favorite at all. That was agreed upon rules invented for the modern Olympics between countries. It's mostly takedowns, and once on the mat you barely wrestle. The guy on bottom doesn't even try to get away most of the time. That's nothing like life or a realistic combat sport, which is what wrestling came from of course. So I don't care what "freestyle" is about, even if it is what trends and popularity made it what everyone does today-- it's still an insult to human origins of wrestling.
      To those who think it's superior; that's only because the rest of the world does that style so it's a higher population that competes, therefore it's tougher competition to just get a takedown for example. However when I was wrestling as a teenager, and competed against some Canadians, Europeans and Russians in freestyle, they were better at freestyle but when we did folk style at a tournament in New York I was killing them on the mat. It's all about styles my friend, and how much time and competition there is to make you better. It's all relative. To me, freestyle isn't even complete wrestling and that's not to insult anybody, it's just my preference and logically freestyle doesn't resemble what humans had been doing thousands of years ago. At least in Folkstyle you try to keep scrambling for position no matter what.
