    I was in Argentina just before the pandemic. I have a few suggestions for you:
    1. La Fuerza in Buenos Aires - Get some snacks and drinks at this awesome vermouth bar. Their red vermouth with soda is amazing.
    2. Tigre - Go for a short day trip to Tigre and rent a boat to take delta cruise. It's fantastic.
    3. Colonia de Sacramento - Great day trip to Uruguay. The city is old, quaint and quiet.
    4. La Floreria Atlantico - Very cool speakeasy type bar in Buenos Aires. You'll want to get a reservation.
    5. Palermo - This is the cool neighborhood in BA. It's very cosmopolitan and there is lots of cool stuff there.
    6. San Telmo - I love this old neighborhood. Try to visit the Mercado San Telmo. Wonderful food and goods.
    7. Dulce de Leche - Don't sleep on this. Have some every day you're in Argentina. They do it right. I liked mine best on toast in the morning.
    8. Gallo Snacks Bizcochos de Arroz - My #1 favorite snack while in Argentina. You can find at any convenience store.
    9. Toro 777 - Snack a spot at this "puerta cerrada" for an amazing meal in a chef's home. You can't go wrong here.
    10. Kentucky Pizza - It's an institution in BA. The pizza is not great, but you've gotta go and take pics, just to say you did.
    Thanks for the wonderful videos. I have found them hugely useful. You turned me on to the Osprey 26+6 and I was able to grab one before they were discontinued. It has become my favorite personal item pack to use. I love how light it is.
    One question. I'm taking the Aer Travel Pack 3 to Europe in a few weeks, but I'm not planning on taking a laptop. What have you seen or heard from the OBT crowd on how to repurpose the laptop compartment for storage?

      I got an Airbnb in Palermo my first few days there, glad to hear I picked a good neighborhood! I already bought a ferry ticket to Colonia de Sacramento, it looks like a fun little town to spend a day. Thanks for all the suggestions, funny that they have a Kentucky pizzaria 😆

    Before I learned that I shouldn't invite just everyone on my trips I often had travel partners that would whine and carry too much and then wonder why their back hurt or that they couldn't stuff their gear into the overhead bin.
    A one-bagger should not be just concerned with getting the bag from the airport to the hotel, but up and down hostel steps, open jaw trips where one might have ones luggage for a day or two before the next destination, etc.
    *_You sir, I could travel with!!_* This is exactly how one does it! I have a friend that prefers Thule whereas I've always gone with my Timbuk2, and he swears by this bag! It is heavy but I also deal with weight with either my Timbuktu Jet or Wingman and if you want sturdy and water repellent you have to do with a bit of weight.
    _On the humerous side I do want to give you props for packing a "ladies" Venus razor!_ You are secure in your manhood! (blades are THE SAME and much more compact). And if I can carry a men's trifold PacSafe wallet it shouldn't matter as long as you are packing most practical item!!
    Enjoy 🇦🇷 !

      Haha, meet me in Buenos Aires, I'll be there Saturday 😉And yes for sure, travelers need to have similar styles or it's going to create friction and take away from the trip. Thule was never on my radar for travel backpacks, I always considered them a roof-rack company. But the more bags by them I try, the more I like them. They tend to be on the heavier-side, but the quality is amazing. I saw that Venus razor on r/heronebag, it's so small! And yes, the blades are the same, just because it's a "Woman's" razer doesn't mean it won't work for a man.

    Impressive packing list. I did a similar trip recently to the Midwest and to the Rockies for two weeks with only an Allpa 35L backpack, weighing in at around 8kg compared to your 5kg. I realized when I got back home to 🇸🇪 that I could (and should) try to travel even lighter the next time. I will probably try to find a smaller bag that weighs a tad less. Appreciate you posting these videos, keep up the good work, and enjoy Argentina.

      I always try and travel lighter with every trip. Lighterpack has really helped me keep track of what I bring, how much it weighs, and whether I need/or used it on my trip. I like the Thule Aion, I do wish the bag was a little lighter, but the way I have it packed it's not too bad.

    Great list, wow pretty minimalist! I will do more research on laundry soaps, but appreciate you listing all your items in detail! Have fun! I am interested in your review on the Thule bag. I did buy the 28l cabin one on your recommendation, looks great have not tried yet. and I did buy the MEC 35 L which was great on a 10 day trip but not enough pockets and the top pocket was awkward when packing full. Buenos Aires, we felt safe walking around, go to the square with the obelisk. The Starbucks is like non other. Local bus was great way to get around.

    This is making me reconsider how I pack for my trips. I nearly always bring four or five days worth of clothes. What do you wear when you are doing your laundry? Are you staying at a hostel, or hotels/BnB? The reason I ask is that it would be much easier to do laundry in room at a hotel then at a hostel (which would require an extra set of clothes to wear when washing)...

    • @IntriguedLioness
      @IntriguedLioness 2 года назад +2

      My male friends wear their swim trunks and any clean t-shirt when they are doing laundry.
      I, as a female, usually have some type of night slip that I could wear while doing laundry.
      Always pack flip flops if you're staying in hostels and there you have it.. shoes and a laundry outfit!

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  2 года назад +2

      I'm staying in a combination of Airbnb/hostels. And yes, hotel you can just walk around in your underwear. I haden't really thought about this, I have enough clothes to go 3-4 days before washing. I'll either just do laundry when I'm in an Airbnb, or wash more often while wearing one of my outfits and drying overnight.

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  2 года назад +2

      @@IntriguedLioness I didn't include flip flops! Good catch. I wish there was such a thing as a tiny shower-flip flop, like just for keeping your feet off the floor, but not sturdy enough for doing much walking. I have the Xero sandals, which are quite small, but I don't think I'll really need them for much outside of showering.

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  2 года назад +1

      @F L I was trying to get away without taking flip flops on this trip, since it's spring and not really beach weather, but it sounds like I'll probably need to bring them.

    • @IntriguedLioness
      @IntriguedLioness 2 года назад +1

      @@OneBagTravels There are two options I've used in the past but you might not have time to look into them before your trip. One is spa slippers. They're shaped like your standard flip-flops/thongs but they're condensed polypropylene instead of spongy foam.. therefore are more compact and do not absorb water so one quick shake and you can put them directly in your shoe bag. I've never purchased them but have always had a few on hand as if you pay $$ for a day spa you sometimes get a complimentary pair ... what a bargain! Yes, there are men sizes though not as common.
      The other option is hard to describe but they're found in Japan and other parts of southeast asia. I can't find a exact translation online but they're known as "shower shoes" they're actually very much like socks that you can slip on to give one traction, I believe they're mainly used for the elderly. A thin rubbery sole but they're good enough to go for room to the hallway to the shower room and back.. and since they take up even less room than a pair of socks they're wonderful for travel. If you've ever used an Asian style dishcloth they are of that type of synthetic fabric, therefore easily dried out before packing away.

    it’s between this and patagonia MLC mini for Cost Rica. Thoughts? Should I be concerned about rain for this bag? (Black Hole seems impervious to everything)

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  Месяц назад +1

      Waxed canvas is pretty waterproof, that's how they used to make rain jackets back in the day. Both bags will leak through the zippers though, so I'd use rain cover or something with either of these bags. Poncho works well in Costa Rica because it's more breathable than a rain jacket, and you can just put it over your backpack.

    Hi. This video is really helpful, thank you. I´m kind of considering buying this bag to use as a personal item on flights, but size limits for personal items are usually about 40x25x20cm and this backpack is apparently about 47x28x23. Do you think it´s possible to squeeze it into those size limits?

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  Год назад +4

      I don't think you will fit it in that size. I was able to fit this bag in a JetSmart sizer (45x35x20) at the airport, but I took a FlyBondi flight (40x30x20) and the bag was too long and wouldn't fit. I was nervous they were going to say somethin, however they didn't make me test it. I'd say most of the time the bag looks small enough and they wont' say anything, but it largely depends on the airline and the person at the gate whether or not you would get away with it.

    • @OneBagTravels
      @OneBagTravels  2 года назад +2

      I rarely actually put my bag under the seat even if I can, or am supposed to. Unless the overhead is completely full and there's no space for other people's carry-on luggage, I usually just stick it in the overhead and use a smaller bag at my seat. So yeah, I'll pack my Matador bag with what I need for the flight before I board (charger, eReader, snacks, water, eye mask etc.), usually I'll stick it in the top of the pack so I'm not carrying two bags. Then right before I board I'll take the smaller bag out.
