  • I shot all of the new Matthews and Hoyt bows for 2024 and landed on the carbon RX8. In this video I go over my build and accessories for my 2024 bow and cover the reasons why I chose Hoyt again over Matthews.

    Great vid and review. The cost for this bow is just ridiculous. But, I guess if you can afford it, so be it... each to their own! I love Hoyt, but these carbon bows are just crazy expensive.

      It’s high for sure. Definitely not a proponent of spending the money if it’s not practical for you. It’s a sweet shooter though!

    That is a beauty for sure. I got excited thinking the go stix might be universal but I see they’re probably not gonna fit my old Switchback XT. I’m still on the hunt for something like those for it. Especially hog hunting on the ground putting in the miles.

      Yea I think they are designed for the newer hoyts. I found a clamp mount on Amazon that clips onto your lower limb to stand the bow up for my helix but I would always take it off to shoot.

      Fellow older Mathews enjoyer! The XT is so legendary. I still hunt with my Creed. I have some newer models but it's still my favorite. I wish they still made solo cam models.

    I ran the total peep all year last year and loved it. Threw on the raptor on the lift but thinking of running the total peep again.

    Haven’t shot the rx8 yet, but I will say I have shot my buddy’s Mathew’s lift and mannnnnn. Such a sweet bow. I was hitting money shots at 35 yards

      @@thegreatoutdoors7728 lift was decent. The stability, smooth draw cycle and not jumpy at full draw is what sold me on the rx8 ultra

    Nice review. Looking to get a new bow soon. I'm a 3d/target shooter. That longer a to a would put the Ultra on my list. Along with Bowtec and Athens. I keep hearing good things on the shootability of the Ultra. That price point is a bit hard to swallow. But then again, I could say that about damn near everything. Stay safe in these crazy times.

      Thanks for watching. It is a tough pill to swallow and I used to upgrade every year but now I’m on an every few years upgrade schedule. A lot of people were upset with the price of the bow. I can understand that. I’d say go shoot one along with all the other ones you might be interested in. I had completely crossed this off the list until I decided to shoot it after the alpha x and Lift and the qualities were significantly noticeable and worth the extra price to me. Good luck on your search for the right rig!

    Absolutely loved my Rx 7 ultra. I was just super disappointed with the finish on the bow itself and how easily it came off

      Ahh that’s a bummer. I usually put my bows through a lot on hunts so will keep an eye out for that.

    Pretty bow. Kills me to hear Mathews is $700 cheaper, and knowing folks complain about their accessories which still don’t get you to an RX cost. Surprised too no other mfg has sticks to keep bow off ground!
    The RX colors are supreme though!

    • @HuntSoloPublic
      @HuntSoloPublic  5 месяцев назад

      Keep in mind Matthews is an aluminum riser and this is carbon. You will always pay more for a carbon riser and it boils down to feel and if the cost difference is worth it to you. It is a looker though, very happy with the look and performance of this build!

      @HuntSoloPublic  6 месяцев назад

      @@franciscolara438 yes most bows are way to expensive these days. Nice gear will never replace skill and fundamentals of hunting but it can give you an edge. As stated in the video, I’ve been successful with very cheap bows as well as very expensive bows! It by no means will help you buy success in the field.
