      I have a question for you...
      If we're given a function like:
      Y'''(t) + (t^2)*(Y'(t)) + 9Y(t) = X'(t) - 8X(t)
      And to check to see if it is linear, would this make it nonlinear because it is multiplied by t^2, and also make it not time invariant?

    You are incorrect for number 3 of your first set of examples. y(n-1) DOES CHANGE. So it is Time Invarient

    x(2n) is time invariant system.
    delay y(n,k)=x(2(n-k))
    replace y(n-k)=x(2(n-k))
    both will be same

    in your first example ( x(t) -3*u(t) ) why the delay only effects the x(t) ??

      x(t) is input and u(t) is not

      but u(t) can be a state . usually we use notation x for state and u for input. but anyways ,
      if i have y(t) = C*x(t) + D*u(t) where y is output, x is state , u is input .and applied your method it will give me a time variant while it is time invariant.

    3:40 are you sure that it is D: x(2n-k)? I think it is D: x(2n-2k), because we delay n by k. n becomes n-k. No offence intended.

      Delay means only subtract k
      Hence, x(2n-k) is right :)
