Here trying to track down the songs of April Wine that was on my first HM tape ever(mix tape) given to me in -80(I was 5) by my older sister.. I can somewhat remember them, but they kinda fell short of the other bands ACDC and Saxon.. I listened to them instead, and kinda forgot the April Wine songs that just became "extras".. To me it just means the heart of metal.. My first metal steps as a 5 year old. That is also key to my metal today, I think, and also why I cannot let it go 42 years after.. 🤘 I must look further but thanks a lot!

Still have my original pressing of Nature of the Beast which was my all time favorite. Picked up Power Play on cassette when it came out and thought it was pretty good. Recently discovered how good Harder Faster is and really enjoying it. I need to give First Glance a chance.

Good one PETE! April Wine. I first heard of them , when a friends older brother turned me onto HARDER FASTER!...i asked for it for Christmas 1979, along with Flirtin With Disaster. I soon found FIRST GLANCE and older albums. Then the next year NATURE OF THE BEAST came out, which was a huge hit in the US at the time. One of my favorite bands.
    1) Harder Faster
    2) First Glance
    3) Nature of the Best
    4)Frigate
    5)Power Play

Forever For Now was supposed to be a Myles Goodwyn solo album. The record company wanted an April Wine album.

    1. S/T. Very different, psychedelic/rock/folk/hard rock etc
    2. Stand Back.
After that, I can't choose - each one will differ by the day; Harder Faster, Nature Of The Beast, Electric Jewels....
Love the 1974 Live album. Awesome.

Just Between You And Me was a regular staple of early MTV. Good times. You still catch classics like Roller and Sign Of The Gypsy Queen on rock radio now and then.

April Wine one of my all time faves. Saw them open for Foreigner and April Wine killed!!! Agreed, good catalog.
    Top 3:
    3. First Glance
    2. Attitude
    1. Nature Of The Beast
Nature Of The Beast was created like Heart's Dog & Butterfly. On vinyl as you said, Side 1 Rocked, Side 2, Laid Back. Thanks for doing this one Pete :-)

Though I own the whole catalog I kept second (and third, and fourth) guessing my list, so I scrapped it and decided to just enjoy yours. Great band. Also, I think we all love it when your dogs give their opinion. :)
    Thanks, Pete!
Not sure if I asked before (I don't like to repeat myself), but any chance of a Sammy Hagar ranking?

A band that should have been more recognized outside of Canada. Many of their songs are still played daily here in Canada right along side of all the heavy hitters...cheers from Vancouver

Mine fall in about the same order except I have Stand Back much higher. Oowatanite, Victim for Your Live are rockers and Tonight is a Wonderful Time to Fall in Love got considerable airplay. It has a hooky riff and Myles Goodwin’s vocals are excellent.

April Wine fans should definitely check out the Canadian film "High Life" (2009)...April Wine comes up as a theme throughout, and they're featured heavily on the soundtrack, excellent crime movie. One of my favorite AW tunes is "Say Hello".

Man, I had forgotten all about "This Could Be The Right One". That chorus has such a great hook! Had to add it my Spotify playlist for work. My customers in the Tulsa Post Offices really get treated to some great music...even if they don't like it.

I consider myself a fan of April Wine I’m familiar with lots of their songs but realized I know very few of their actual albums. Nature of the Beast was the one I remember the most. I remember as a kid the album cover always intrigued me. I saw them live back in the early 90s, they were awesome.
