My huge theory is that someone tipped the police off about Jacob's presence in his sister's house which is why they were there at the end.
Best bet? Oscar, Olivia, whatever tf that douchebag's name is was the mastermind of it all and most likely ratted Jacob out when he got arrested. Hoe couldn't stand that he was walking around free that day so he became a snitch.
What I worry about is Erin's job and license to be a therapist because he accidentally was a part of something illegal and even lied about Jacob's disappearance. It could be a possibility if he doesn't persuade enough that he could lose his job and probably even lose Jacob for a while.

If Jacob gets more time added because of this scum😡😱… I mean Jake has witnesses now right? Mrs. Sandra and the boys would definitely testify for Jake in this case I think. So would Erin really. Besides Jake would go back to prison regardless so hopefully he won’t be in too much trouble. He wouldn’t be with Vel but the warden could be a problem.

I mean the big issue is that Erin lied about Jacob's disappearance. He's supposed to be elsewhere, not at his sister's house. So even with witnesses that may not help and even put Vel and Erin's jobs on the line.
