Wow! This solved my problem! No matter how much I would shrink the pixels down, my image was just always way too big for the cover photo in my Facebook group. I worked on it for far too long. After having seen this tutorial video, I went and learned how to shrink the FILE size down for my program, Pixelmator (similar to Photoshop) and it worked! Yay!!! Super relieved! Thank you!
I’m new to photoshop as well as graphic design. Your videos are amazingly helpful. You do a great job at providing a ton of information in a straight forward delivery without dumbing it down. I have been able to start creating marketing material and content for my website without too much trouble.
Thanks slot man.... I am a bird photographer. I was totally disappointed and morally went down watching fb killing my photos which were clicked with that much dedication. Now let me try your tips and I am confident that it will work for me... Thanks once again...
For the cover photo, you would actually need higher resolution and it's ok if you upload large file size. Make sure your jpg/png is either lossy or has the highest quality. Uploading a 851x315 or 851x360 banner would not be as sharp is if you take the same banner and export it at higher resolutions but the same aspect ratio.
Hi Bro, I have wathching your tutorials for years, however. It would be great if you can do another tutorial for picture uploads on Facebook in 2022, as I have follow the tutorial and my Images has less then 50 KB, but on the timeline on Facebooks looks still compression. How can I fix that. Facebook also recommend to use a Size of 1200 x 630 in 2022. Would be great if you can make another video. thanks in advance John
Great video, explaining why the quality drops and how to overcome it. Although, I noticed having better results by saving my work for web, rather than directly as JPEG. Something to consider!
@@SATamim03 Hi. I am just so bothered. I finished editing an image on photoshop and save it to 2048 px (jpeg). And after adding the file to facebook, it would not show the image meaning i cannot upload it. Any help please? Thanks.
ok so if i upload a regular picture at say 2048 width and say 1365 height, what jpeg quality do i use or have to be under kb, since its not a cover its just a regular Picture, and why sometimes when i take one of my regular pictures, and try and make it my profile pic, it looks blurry and bad
Another major issue (don't know if this transpired after this video): Even if you follow Facebook guidelines, FB algorithms can run riot with your image.
Can anyone help to clarify this for me? I am still a little confuse by that second point on the facebook help center page. Does it mean only cover photos need to be under 100kb , whereas any other form of photo posting need only to adhere to the first point where their width falls under one of 720px, 960px or 2048px wide; while, their file size could be anything since it explicitly states "To avoid compression when you upload your COVER photo, make sure the file size is less than 100KB" and did not mention about general postings of photos other than cover photo.
i know this video is a few years old and the same technique exists by saving to a less then 100 kb and other settings but what about other social media platfroms? sometimes i find having to optimise image for pinterest and twitter as well and need to adjust ratio for it maybe need to change quality settings too? for eg pinterest images they is 1000px by 15000px
Hello, my images are appearing blurry, for the profile picture I have the dimension set to what facebook recommends 180 x180, however, my image is still appearing blurry. What do I have to save the file extension as jpg or png?

When I go to save as I don't get that slider option. Mine just says none/fast or smallest/slow under compression.

Nice tutorial. What about vertical images size on fb?
With vertical images, you just have to worry about the horizontal dimensions. As discussed, keeping them 960 or 2048.
Thnx.
Where do I find the plug in Pexels and how to install it. Would appreciate your support on this item. Thanks in advance, Paul (The Netherlands)
Great! Thank you!
