I am considering buying a number four as my first rifle anything I should know or look for or look for a specific model. I’m also wondering if you would know what price a mediocre no4 would go for what I see right not Is about 500-600 bucks
This is not my rifle, it’s a friend of mine. And if you want to know what to look for, check out the ForgottenWeapons video on the No4 rifle. That being said, $500-600 sounds about right to me. Here’s my advice though, if you’re not going to shoot it alot and have it more as a display piece, save up to buy a nice version of it. If you’re going for a shooter, you might want to consider learning how to make your own ammo. .303 British isn’t a very common round, so save your brass and work on reloading. You could find a Sterling conversion for the rifle to rechamber it to 7.62 NATO, watch BlokeOnTheRange for more info on that.
*I love this hidden gem

If you shoot like this ... Stick with the Mauser action
Yeah…first time firing the No. 4 rifle. Still need to practice with my bolt gun handling.
