    I am a citizen of the UK, not exactly young anymore, just 72 which is just a number in my mind. I have had an affinity for Israel for a great number of years and recently, with having access to the internet been pretty occupied watching various RUclips videos in which a person with a webcam would be on a walking tour Israel showing shops street life, buildings being erected, ect, in other words the beating heart of the people day to day. Of course the videos would show lots of signs in shop windows, on walls, road signs and of course, speech. I am fascinated by all this and want to know more, hence the need to learn Hebrew? I came across your RUclips site, and thought, "This is for me". The going may be slow, but I am willing. Thank you for your videos...Bit like being back at school again..he he he...Any helpful advice much needed. Thanks again.

    Thank you!!! I've been studying the Hebrew bible for a couple years and have taken a deep interest in the Hebrew language!! Without knowing almost anything about it, some teachers are finding very deep meaning in scripture that is LOST in English.
    I've been learning the Hebrew pronunciations of names and am fascinated by it!
    Recently my wife and I while studying Psalms (Tehillim) decided to do a Hebrew letter meaning study. Because when we noticed in chapter 9 it has Hebrew letters separating portions of the Tehillim.. we found that the meaning of the letters corrospond to the content of that portion.
    I realized as I'm typing this that is probably common knowledge to those who speak Hebrew but.. to us we where like wow!! It was so exciting.
    Thank you for these teaching lessons!! I can begin my Hebrew learning!!

    Luckily, I found THIS Video FIRST & Took Good Notes & Drew Or Wrote The Letters. THEN I Saw "New & Improved" Message & Looked For It In RUclips. I Thought IT WAS THE NEW ONE ! BUT NO ! THIS is the GOOD ONE ! But I Watched, Wrote & Copied The Other Lesson BUT IT WAS SO BAD ! You Seemed Very Nervous & So Unsure. It Was Painful To Watch & Made ME NERVOUS TOO ! I Remembered THIS ONE -- Very Smooth & Peaceful, Relaxed. So Different. This One Is GREAT ! i'LL BE BACK FOR LESSON 2 ! Thank You, Sir !

    I've been trying out your phone app (Learn Hebrew Alphabet,) and I like your teaching style. As a child, I went to Hebrew school for a few years, but now I'm confused about the letters, many of which seem similar to me. It helps me to learn words and conversational phrases-and see them written-at the same time that I'm relearning the alphabet. After the first day of using your app, I could watch an episode of "Schtisel" on Netflix and pick out the word "beseder," which the characters said a dozen times.

    4:32 prolly a low-yield question but I've seen on other vids that "father" is written aleph with patah below + bet (with dagesh) and patah below (instead of qamatz), followed by aleph
    => I know that niquds aren't written/used in everyday modern Hebrew but is there a "standardized" form of writing things, i.e. should it be bet (with dagesh) and patah below or qamatz? Or may I use any A-type niqud as I please (even a hataf patah if I wanted to)?
    Thank you very much for your lessons :)

    Dear Danie, I have a question. You write the 'yod' (print version) as a kind of an upside down 'L', with the corner in the upper right-hand corner. However, in my book it appears only as a short vertical line from the top, like an apostrophe: ' Which is right?

    !אבא בא
    Most times I see mem sofit hand-written, the "tail" dips down much further than you wrote it.
    You may want to explain that "yam" means "sea" (ocean) and not "see".
    And what's the rule for a dagesh inside the mem?

    • @raphaelalbert8110
      @raphaelalbert8110 4 года назад +2

      Dagesh inside the מ is a technicality from classical Hebrew that modern Hebrew speakers don't really pay attention to. It simply doubles the "M" sound, like spelling אמא as אממא, and pronounced "imma".
