MashaaAllaah. Shaykh Yasir uses his usual academic style to analyze a well known hadith in the chapter of Fasting. Imam an Nawawi gives the arabic text which may be misunderstood in the english translation. So Shaykh first gives the correct explanation followed by the difference of opinion on which fasts can be made up for the deceased. Then he follows it up with the bigger controversy of what deeds can we make up for the deceased, specifically our family members? Shaykh goes with the opinion that in general, we all are accountable and will have the deeds we earned in our account. No one can do any good deeds for anyone else after they die to give them reward except for those which have been specified by Prophet Muhammad. Then this is followed by a very lengthy QA. Enjoy!
I'm sorry I'm not understanding. The prophet (PBUH) made duaa for his own mother? Wasn't she already a Muslim? JazakAllahHuKhyr
