Bit lower quality standard on this one than usual, but oh well. Wanted to do something quick and fun to break up how grimdark the last few were. Ironically this ended up becoming one of my most popular videos, so I guess I didn't fare too poorly.

This song suits the mood of this anime way better than I ever imagined it would. It's a perfect fit.

    Holy cow. Holy COW!!
All the impacts and like. Action moments of each shot were on the beat and matched what was going on in the song so well. Good blend of action, bs antics, and moody atmosphere stuff. This may be one of the best edited amv’s ever and it’s with maybe my favorite show of all time. Truly a masterpiece. I will be coming back to this

Thanks for the kind words! It honestly warms my heart to see people still watching my stuff almost a decade later. The biggest challenge for me was always always always deciding on a good song for a particular series. I think that a lot of AMVs which otherwise have great editing suffer from really ill-fitting music choices. It's not easy. And while I don't necessarily think this video is my best work, it's the one time I found a song that complimented the show absolutely PERFECTLY. Sometimes you just accidentally strike gold like that I guess.

RUclips told me to share my thoughts. I don't get it? How does one share their thoughts, with a virtual web site? But, I do like this concept of this "AMV".

In my opinion it is a show that needs to be seen multiple times. There is a lot of thematic complexity that isn't immediately obvious underneath all the zaniness. But that's just my opinion. : )

You tripping! It was good to me, the problem I had with it was the 2nd and 3rd season. I wished they used Naota in the second season. Would be great as hell to see him as an adult by now

It's a coming of age story about a 11 yo boy who misses his brother, and struggles to express his emotions. Then he meets an Alien girl with the ability to teleport stuff through people's minds by whacking them on the head with a magic guitar. She moves into his house, and he subsequently falls in love with her. She teaches him how to be himself, rather than live in the shadow of his brother. Which is basically the moral of the story. How to grow up to be a real man, and what that means.

the reason why it’s so confusing is because it’s trying to capture what it feels like when you get manipulated emotionally by someone older than you for their own reasons. this is seen in the boys relationship with the girl mamimi who’s basically using him as a fill in for his older brother who moved to American who she is in love with, but she doesn’t actually like the kid and this messes with him. the feeling is exaggerated with the alien that shows up and is trying to use his head to gain access to some powerful entity that can only be contacted when she bashes him on the head while he’s in emotional turmoil. which is why she flirts with him then turns around and does the same with his dad, she’s trying to mess with him so she can use him. the show just explores how that all feels for him so i think it’s trying to be intentionally fast paced and kinda confusing

@@cocothedino_2901 To me the strongest theme was adolescent misconceptions about what it means to be mature. Nauta thinks being mature means being moody and serious all the time, it's an idea of what it means to be "grown up" that mostly exists between the ages of 11 and 13.
You also see this in Ninamori's side-story, which also has elements of adults manipulating children for their own selfish ends. Ninamori is actually heartbroken that her parents are getting a divorced and horrified by her father's infidelity to her mother, but she represses it. In response her father and his mistress praise her for acting so "grown up". Really it's them who are being selfish and immature, and they praise of Ninamori's stoic response because it serves their own ends even if it's not healthy for her. In a way, of the three love-interests for Nauta, Ninamori is the most appropriate because they have so much in common, and of course because they're actually the same age.
I find Mamimi to be a very tragic character. She literally has no friends except for Nauta. She gets horribly bullied and her parents neglect her. I've heard multiple people suggest that Ta-kun basically molested her. I don't agree with you that she doesn't actually like Nauta. I think she does and the thing that brings them together is that Ta-Kun abandoned them both.
