Martyn has made it into an official Hermitcraft thumbnail! Yay!
Yeah I saw it and was like, is that Martyn
would be fun if he became a hermit in s11
HELL YEAH!
Nerd cubed when
@@SteveFard omg yes
it was nice seeing martyn and jimmy join the fray for the charity
S11 foreshadowing? 😁😁😁
It's always nice to see them with the hermits, especially ones who aren't in the life series
@@OhBenWhyKenobimaybe😮
Very much enjoyed the obscure reference to Etho's classic alter ego "Ladders" (he goes up and he goes down) from an old Team Canada series that was planted in the archery parkour minigame
The Etho head next to the ladders with eyyyyy killed me.
Ladders I go up I go down eyyyyyy!
Eyyyyy ladders
A block that can do TNT duping but you have to feed it gunpowder?
That sounds like a crafter!
Was just about to comment this.
"The Mojang added block that can "dupe" TNT is called crafter, and you feed it with gunpowder and sand. 😁"
Also needs sand sadly, which has to be duped. There is no dupe free way to get infinite TNT afaik :(
You cant move a crafter with pistons tho.
@@xisumavoid yeah, for carpet bombing that doesn't work, but wouldn't it work for stationary tnt dropping machine? Feed crafter with gunpowder from farm > Craft tnt in crafyer > push it to dropper (or via storage) > eject it > boom.
Yes, you need to destroy a beach for it, but for tree farm purposes it should work, right?
@@xisumavoid oh that's fair,
but if you need to feed a hypothetical movable TNT duper,
then you also need movable hoppers or chests or something funky with hopper minecarts?
I know nothing about flying-machines, but if I were to do TNT block breaking in farms then I'd personally use the crafter.
Xisuma, it was an honor to welcome you on Zedcraft and watch you all enjoy our games ! And for such a good cause as well.
If you told me a month ago that my silly game would make it into a Hermitcraft video... I might have made it look prettier 😂 !
(For the hypothetical french viewer here: yes, Thimble Tumble, the first game showed here, is based off the Dé à Coudre game ! I just simplified the rules a bit to make it quicker paced :D )
I always enjoy the zits on Zedcraft, you guys are awesome
Shoots n Ladders is such a simple and genius idea, loved how it was done.
That minigame with the creepers at 12:32 is really clever. Looks like a lot of fun!
Congrats and thank you to all of the hermits (and friends!) on the gamers outreach charity fundraising!
I feel the main issue with TNT is the fact that there is no fully automatic sand farm that isnt duping. If there was everyone would build a farm for sand and gunpowder than auto craft TNT.
They should maybe have husks dropping sand, and then it would give reason to build in the desert.
@@raithbiper8736hey that's actually a really good idea, and if they think it's too op they could make it a rare drop like iron ingot
@@raithbiper8736oooh great idea!
That creeper game on Zed’s patreon server looked like so much fun.
This weekend was crazy, so proud of the Hermitcraft community honestly. Yellow Team FTW
My personal rule for TNT dupers is "only moving contraptions may dupe". As long as there's no option to have movable inventories/dispensers, I think it's OK to dupe, since there's no viable alternative. For a stationary thing however, there's no reason you couldn't provide it with the necessary TNT, even more so when having access to the crafter. Not allowing stationary dupers also forces you to optimize the blast chamber, unless you're willing to pay a TNT block to break a measly 2 or 3 blocks of course.
I think that if there was a way to farm sand, I would agree.
Widout that, it becomes annoying having to go get more and more sand.
@@thomasfplm There's a way to dupe sand. But because its so overkill, they do not allow sand dupers on hermitcraft for shops etc.
@@frankie4073 but if you're gonna dupe sand you might as well dupe tnt right?
@@frankie4073, my point was exactly about the lack of an official way to get sand widout dupping or destroying a desert.
A perfectly reasonable stance to have. I'm lazy so I'm not gonna build a whole creeper farm and manually mine sand just to power my cobble generator's blast chamber, though. But the beauty of this game is there's literally infinite ways to play it
You had the great fortune to be on Impulse's team for the Hermilympics. Some how his team seems to win. It was a lot of fun watching that live.
Just wanted to say thank you for being an encouraging part of the charity event! I was following most of the POVs over the weekend and it was great to see you and doc and Cleo all (and others) joining in on the last day to help and it was so much fun
7:30 I don't think Mojang should add a TNT-duper-like block, now that we have the crafter what Mojang should add is a renewable and possibly automatable way of getting sand.
Maybe a TNT recipe with gravel instead of sand
Maybe someone should allow sand duping on the server wink wink nudge nudge xD
A good point but I was thinking a TNT-duper block would be movable by flying machines/pistons too.
@@xisumavoidor even just more obvious duping mechanics, like why coral? it was originally a big but it’s been embraced, I mostly wish it just made more sense
@@xisumavoid Ah, yeah, that'd be nice too :) I didn't think about flying machines/quarries. I guess another way would be to have movable tile entities, but maybe that's too much to ask for.
Loved having you on Zedcraft, X!
Even though I watched just about the entire charity livestream from multiple different prospectives, my reaction to seeing Martyn on your thumbnail was ‘what on earth is Martyn doing on Hermitcraft? He’s not supposed to- oh wait… OOoOooOhHHh!’ 🤦🏻♀️😂
this'll be the first minigame district since . . . season seven with the turf war i think?? since eight was long and nine was focused on do2. looking forward to it!!
S9 did have the charity games area with Bdubs & Etho's horse track, Tango's basalt assault, Etho's battlebane, X's scaffolding game, and I think a few more too
@@knack2baybeeCubfan's total chaos!
S9 definitely had a gaming district
I never thought we’d see Duck Hunt from Halo in Minecraft but it works so well! The non-lethal nature of the bow, combined with the slime blocks at the bottom make for some interesting recovery/second chance mechanics!
Hope someone remakes it on the hermitcraft server
Spoilers:
Impulse really does win every Zedlympics, it's uncanny
Very cool to have my kids and my name on that monolith. Glad to be a part of it!
Martyn and Jimmy are now honorary hermits in my eyes, They totally deserve to be in Hermitcraft at some point :)
Just started watching X again as took a break for RUclips (too much content!!). Great start to the season from everyone! Also you keep on hitting new heights with these builds mate, you've truly been evolving as a builder and its great to see. Cheers to a great rest of the season!
I’m watching this with my baby nephew as he didn’t want to nap. This is likely his first Minecraft experience. And he seems to enjoy it alright.
The Zedlympics games were all so good, but I think my favourite might've been the trident game that saw you all fighting your way to the top of a giant water tower. It looked manic in the best possible way.
Loved seeing you join the Hermit-lympics! It's always been great fun watching Z.I.T.S play, but these last couple of times with others joining as well, has been super fantastic to watch. You guys really pulled out a win on this one!! 💚
Awww Salem was the name of my little IRL void kitty. Sadly she passed away last year (she was 19)... but I have her in my MC world too :)
You can hear X say the “and”. Then boom.
“Have faith in us, and”. Boom
Nice job winning the Hermit Olympics yesterday! I'm so proud of you lot and this wonderful community for coming together and raising so much for a great cause!
Really enjoyed watching you and the others compete in the Hermitlympics. I was blown away by the creativity of the mini games. Can't wait to see what the Hermits come up with for the gaming district this season.
the Zedolympics were a lot of fun! congratulations for the wonderful job you all did this weekend!
I wish Mojang would add a red stone block like the mechanical drill from the create mod. Then they could eliminate TNT duping and provide us with a solution for farms like this 9:02
The Quark Mod has something pretty simple to that : Iron Rods , when moved with a sticky piston , they can break blocks in front of them.
Those games are really inspiring! A reminder for myself that you don't need to over complicate everything or automate it, just keep your focus on the fun concept as you said.
I'd already watched Zed's live stream, and a couple other Hermits' perspectives, but you edited your video REALLY well to show the highlights from your view while keeping it interesting and not repetitive. Superb job!
To split the bone meal between the two hoppers evenly, you could just put a comparator off the double chest and have it lock the hoppers below until it's got a handful of bone meal in it. Not full, but even signal strength 1 should be a couple stacks which is enough to feed both hoppers at once easily.
The community and the hermits & friends did a lot of good this weekend. Awe inspiring to see. ❤
Thanks for uploading! I was just looking for the next video to watch :D
For Salem: large pots in the floor with a carpet look like food dishes
7:35 -- What Mojang should add is a block that deletes blocks, similar to the cactus for items. Pistons can push blocks into it in order to instantly mine them, but with zero drops. Most of the value of a block like that would be for this sort of use case, tree farm excess.
9:55 If I had to guess, the location is just outside of loaded range of the fireworks factory or event area, causing some of the goats to unload, and new ones to spawn.
I had a similar issue, in 1.17, with being just far enough underground for pillager squads to spawn and unload, I had hundreds of them by the time I went topside.
The rooted dirt farm is so cool! I appreciate that you explained the redstone. :)
I 100% agree we need something like a "blasting block" that lets you make on command explosions. Sort of like a hybrid dispenser that creates an explosion in the direction it faces to destroy blocks, at the cost of needing to be filled with gunpowder. It'd be great for traps and excellent for farms.
So glad you guys won x! I enjoyed seeing the little highlights of each of the minigames!
Let’s hope that donor monument gets a big facelift before the end of the season. It should be made out of diamond blocks.
I believe the simple solution to TNT duping is game parity. Bring moveable tile entities to java & a renewable way to get sand (grinding gravel or something?)
Grian had too much faith lol!
@9:56 that random screaming goat jumping off the mountain😆
Mojang have indeed added a tnt duper with the auto crafter. While you can connect it to a creeper farm, you'll still have to feed it sand
Awesome episode! Sweet a rooted success! Absolutely love Hermitlympics! Hope it is an annual event! Congratulations on the win! Keep up the awesome work! Have a fantastic day! See you later!
Zedcraft invites Impulse, Tango and Skizz over every so often for OlympZITS. Check out the VODs on their (second) channels. The ones from a year ago where from another season of Zedcraft with different games.
And a few months ago (just before the new hermitcraft season) some other hermits joined in for the OlympZITS.
Great to see Martyn in the thumbnail, and great video, of course!
the ohhhh whyyy was so good lmao
seeing you play in the hermitlympics was so dun! like the mix with your rooted dirt farm in the video
I got so excited!! We have a Salem too!!
Community really is key. Nearly a million dollars in a weekend?! GG!
To make the farm more efficent you could add an addional rooted dirt farm on the other side making the tnt more effective and the farm twice as fast! I loved the design!
the nther clip with mumbo is so hilarious. The reactions are so honest and surprised
Instead of removing TNT duping, Mojang should make a block called The Exploder.
It explodes when you power it. It's not destroyed when this happens.
Simple.
With the New autocrafter, the TNT Duper in Farms would not be neccessary, IF there would be a way to farm Sand.
Maybe with a serverwide Datapack, you could add a receipe for crafting sand from cobblestone and TNT: Like one TNT and 8 cobblestone would "blast" in the crafter/workbench into 8 sand. Then there would be a regular farm build, without any duping mechanics.
That sand, and kreeper-farmed gunpowder could go into a crafter, that crafts the TNT for the Farm, needing TNT, and the Crafter system for creating sand. The cobblestone farm could also be just a regular one using a bit of the crafted TNT. Or maybe instead of "exploding" cobblestone into sand, maybe some other receipe, using gravel, and maybe a bucket of water, like sand is created by water in the ocean.
IIRC you already use the receipes for coloring blocks, that do not need a "not colored" variation of the block.
Hermitcraft is a Server with building, red stoning and foremost shenanigans and collabs. Why make such things as "getting sand" such a hassle. I can understand, that using duping systems is a not so liked system, but basically almost every basic building block can be farmed. Exept for one of the most basic blocks, that is needed for TNT, concrete and sandstone...
These mini games are SO unique I love it
Those games definitely look like it would make you better at Minecraft overall
I think the driving force for TNT duping is the lack of renewable sand. If there was a way to get sand then it would be easy to connect to a creeper farm with the autocrafter. I actually like what I saw with Ilmango's skyblock series where coral fans could be used to farm sand.
Looks like X's business choices are very deep-rooted this season...
The goats are most likely the result of chunk pruning. If you trim a chunk the entities are not culled and the game will respawn any mobs that spawn there with world creation. I've experienced this with a village that straddled the border of a chunk I trimmed several times resulting in a large population of nitwits.
Your rooted dirt farm seems perfect for skyblock variations.
Congrats on the win - those games look fun!
I love how readable was that tree farm. I'm bad at redstone and even i could understand that with just using basic Minecraft mechanics like push block limits
9:59
I saw something similar happening with pigs in another server.
I think there is something to do with how minecraft saves chunks, but I don't really know, it was something someone else said there.
skizz calling joel a stud 😭😭 such a softball dad thing to say i love it
The creeper drop game looks so fun!
I was at work when the Charity was live so missed it but did watch some of the vods. But it was awesome to watch the hermits! It is also awesome to see the possibility of a game district this season! It's been a while but correct me if I'm wrong S6 was the last season there was a game district
Didn't S7 have a gaming district? S9 definitely did
13:57 For some reason I always thought the death messages in these situations read “ was blown up by creeper ignited by .” Mojang has other priorities I guess.
15:15 Eyyyy, ladders!
Well done with the good medal!!!
I feel like Mojang should add alternatives for duping blocks such as TNT and gravity. I know some mods like Quark attempt at this, but it would need to be useful enough for players to switch away from exploits. Making Husks have the chance of dropping one block of sand, for example, won’t be enough.
If there was an automatic way to get sand, like through piglin trading, you could set up an auto crafter for the tnt. Not sure if you could just add it to the loot table for piglin trades.
It may be a bit late but to deal with the hopper speed on the bonemeal silo wouldn't it be faster to have that entire system run on bone blocks instead only converting it to bone meal at each individual farm? that would make each hopper 9x more efficient. but would mean the silo might get to large to naturally be in a filled state.
Moyang kinda did add a tnt duper you have to feed with gunpowder (and sand): the auto crafter
Would love a detail tutorial on that rooted dirt farm!
'Maybe Mojang can add a block that does the dupeing and we fill it with gunpowder'
With peace and love this is essentially the crafter if we want to be legit about things , gatta feed it all the sand to tho ofc.
That first game reminded me of Lily Drop from season 3(?)
"a block that dupes tnt that you feed gunpowder"
that's a crafter connected to a dispenser aint it?
@xisumavoid You don't technically need to dupe TNT for stationary builds though... You can use an autocrafter to make the TNT granted it will be a guzzler of sand and gunpowder. I am also somewhat in favor of using TNT duping when required, but if and when autocrafter is introduced in stable vanilla, might try and switch. Cheers!
The monolith might need some slight redesigning 😅
I suppose with the crafter, you can just load chests full of gunpowder and sand and have a "tnt duper"
Sure you've got your reasons but sending blocks and decrafting to bonemeal on site solves the bottlenecks. Would conversely introduce throughout problems tho, would need a request system for each site
They did add a tnt duplicater it's called the crafter you just need to feed it sand and gunpowder.
You can up the rate of the bonecilo by crafting bone blocks and than crafting those back into bonemeal so you will have 9 bonemeal per tick
I think Xisuma would do pretty well in MCC
"Why are there so many goats up here?!"
Answer: Cubfan135
A block that makes tnt but you have to feed it, it's called the crafter.
A TNT duper that is fed with gunpowder is really missing the point I think, lol. It would make way more sense for them to just add a generalized block breaker, maybe one that you need to fill with proper tools.
man martyn yhe aha-man would be the next best choice for HC😂😂...one of the funniest people i've seen in mc
m-aha-tyn
An item/tnt duper would be cool but it would eliminate the need to farm certain items which I personally feel takes the fun out of playing survival sometimes but i do feel the need to have a way to gather large quantities of sand without travelling and destroying deserts maybe like make it an item that can be traded by piglins or have a way to recycle it like with dirt to mud to clay
I kept wondering why you were making the Rooted Dirt farm so complicated. Then I finally understood that your farm auto generates the block instead of you Bone Mealing a single block a bunch and having to manually harvest/gather Dirt blocks and feed them into an Autocrafter. Not sure which is more work honestly. 🤔
Since Gunpowder is a renewable resource TNT duping is just Sand duping. Doc was right this whole time! 😅😅😅
loved the clips from the charity stream :] although ur dodging makes it a bit obvious ur not in mcc lol
They need to make dynamite, a tnt alternative but only take 2 gunpowder to make with a string. It has a smaller blast then TNT but it's a precise explosion of like a 3x4 area or something like that. This way you can avoid dupers and have a controlled explosion. TNT is cool but its very bouncy imo
I've never heard Martyn so quiet xD
Cool farm!✨️
7:30 almost like some kind of autocrafter
