I love how that guy had a Sunsword that he used to take out the spawn in the coffin but then put it away in favor of an axe to fight the fully awake and alert spawn that snuck up on them. A friendly reminder that Intelligence should not be a dump stat.
We played Curse of Strahd and decided to not use it at all when fighting anything that has ANY chance of running away and reporting to Strahd - we esentially didn't want him to know that we had it, so maybe that's similar
It could be fun solo. MMO is d&d with video game graphics, which is awesome, don’t get me wrong. Its just that you can become easily entranced by something that’s built around one player.

This is Ravenloft. The demi-plane of Dread has realms that behave very much as the fortune teller says and the lands' masters may be trapped by their realms but they are also maintained by said realms. (Incidentally, anyone notice Strahd arrived holding the Mists card?)
Best campaign D&D ever had. Surpassed only by the offshoot Masque of the Red Death. (Think D&D but in the real world, during the late 1800's. Ever wanted to have your paladin use guns on the undead? Ever wanted to have your mage help with a train robbery? All doable in that campaign.)

One of the best module in neverwinter. The hunt system is so fun. It's grinding. But fun. I can feel the atmosphere in barovia, especially when night has fallen.
Congrats. Don't know how many times I ran parties through it in AD&D, but it always had the same result -- they never survived. Problem is that once you have played the PnP version, no video game is going to cut it. Nor is the 4e NWN rule set ever something which can capture the actual horror and challenging nature the module has in 1E, 3.5e, or 5e.
Congrats! My party and I also recently beat Curse of Strahd and we managed to restore the grave of Argynvost and bring the sun back to Barovia! Yay happy ending.
Nothing says the fire conflict with Strahd like collecting 13 snake skins or grinding the Bonegrinder over and over to get the Sunblade to drop, or rather A Sunblade as dozens of dudes will already have it.
if you don't mind going old school, Ravenloft: Sarah's Invitation and Ravenloft: Stone Prophet were both considered amazing games for their time (early 90s) and received great reviews!
Playing a D&D campaign wiht buddies on discord and roll20, running the Curse of Strahd module, they've just cleared the St Andral's church Feast event, and got their hands on Argynvost skull, now to deal with the aftermath of the event in town and bring the skull back to Argynvostholt, Oh and they only managed to Kill 2 of the Night hags in the Old Bonegrinder, the 3rd one escaped and is on the loose, looking for them...
My players drowned Baba lysaga in her blood tub( aced their stealth checks) and wiped out the hags in old bonegrinder. They took a shortcut past argynvost and want to explore it later. Right now they're looking for the third ww gem

D&D is an amazing game I really wish they make something as fun as the pen and paper version. the worst part of D&D is organising friends and a DM to play with.
When people stop calling a $100 single player rpg completely absurd while dishing out $500-$5000 in microtransactions over a year on an mmo for some skins. It doesnt even make any financial sense to do a single player quality experience when people will pay twice as much for a monocle accessory and you’ll get lambasted for charging even $60 (and especially anything over).

You guys clearly know nothing about D&D so relax. Ravenloft is a demiplane which can feasibly be traveled to from anywhere in the Forgotten Realms by entering the mists of Ravenloft when they appear. The game, Neverwinter, largely takes place in the Sword Coast region (where Neverwinter is), but sometimes other settings are introduced as expansions or events.

Around 1990, they issued a full campaign setting in which the demi-plane included dozens of territories, each with a lord who could never leave and had some unique curse. In the campaign, Strahd's home is still called Castle Ravenloft, but "Ravenloft" is also the informal name of the whole demi-plane.
Thing that's disappointing is the bosses for this dungeon don't exist in the lore, they could have had much cooler boss fights. You have the "Sisters of Strahd" which I guess are supposed to be the family friendly version of "Brides of Strahd". Then you have the Arcolith, which is just a big animated statue/golem that doesn't appear anywhere canon. You would think Rahadin or Beaucephalus would make the best choices for a boss. Also the mechanics of these bosses, Strahd included, are routine MMO stuff and don't even have much to do with the creatures' actual powers. You could skin literally any other character on to them and the abilities would feel just as appropriate.
