If your not quiet sure which Premium strength larger to go for then it's advisable to ask your local tramps , they are a veritable font of wisdom and information when it comes to to getting lashed round about lunchtime every day , anyway they advised me to go for some Kestrel super premium , on sale at Mr Pattells for an excellent £ 1.25 p so seeing as it was Monday i decided to get about 5-7 cans , anyway the next thing i knew i was in a police cell facing a section 5 public order offence after being found shuffling along the middle of the road in Ipswich town center with my trousers around my ankles shouting at pigeons .
The English, complete bastards with their attitude to the poorest people in society. They’re especially vicious if they’re just slightly above those they perceive as lower than them.
I love this stuff. I missed my favourite Dutch 8.6 and Amsterdam Navigator 8.0 available in most supermarkets of France...so while back in UK, the only beer that has come close is Kestrel Super 9.0%. I prefer to drink it ice cold, and drank 6- cans yesterday during a rare hot 🔥 English summer's day/evening with an old friend. Zero headache, which indicates a good brewed beer, similar to the Dutch and German strong beers of quality. I think the Kestrel brewery since moving back to Scotland have upped the quality of the hops, and this brings it a really malty smooth flavour.
Tastes good. Lot of flavour for sure, just got a Can for 2.20 local shop, can't complain. First or second time I've had it - ever- I think, very flavour some.
True story… about 10 years ago I picked up a 4pack of Special Brew from a supermarket in central London on my way back home from work on a Friday evening (like to spread my strong beer over the weekend). As the checkout girl put them through she said to me in a concerned manner “Are you OK ?” slightly bemused I replied “Yes…. Why ?”, her response was slightly shocking 🤔” I thought you were going to sit in the park and get drunk so I wanted to check you are OK ?”. Now, bare in mind I was clean shaven, wearing a beautiful slim fit Italian suit, tie and a well groomed short back and sides you can imagine my bemusement 😮… I haven’t been able to bring myself to pickup Special Brew since ….. thank the lord for kestrel Super 😂
The drink of choice amongst street drinkers is nearly allways, orangeboom super in the red and black can 8.5 ,% or frosty jacks white cider..kestrel isnt bad at all i have t seen anyone drinking that for years it reminds me of the 90s when tennents special brew kestrel were really popular
This is nice lager 😋. Far better and the taste is their, compared with Carling, bud, blue moon and the like. Nice one 👍, would give this a 8 every time, 6.5 is quite low seeing you would drink this again 😜
It's come on a lot then, because when I used to drink it in the 90's it was gut-rot. At least, the first couple of cans were. Cans 3, 4, 5... they tasted great, but the first couple? awful. That was then though... maybe it's 'developed' a bit since :)
Skol super makes me feel sick , please PLEASE give karpackie 9% a taste it's the best in the world next to special brew ....before they reduced the strength for poofs.😊
I tried Skol super once. Never drinking it again. Very sweet. Kestrel is way better. Karpackie has to be my favourite tho. Love that stuff. Tho kestrel is a worthy competitor
Some of these strong lagers in the UK get a really bad name, Kestrel is one of those that sits on the borderline, it's the best of this breed by far. It's a shame it cannot detach itself from the tramps on a park bench stigmitisation... I know the brewer is trying hard to change this, and rightly so....
Interesting fella. I wonder if they renamed this iand rebadged it with some fancy artwork, would the craft ale aficionados know the difference? (Me include!)
Kestrel drums were my first drum kit in 1988. Thankfully 32 years later I've got the best drums available to humanity 🥁😂
I only heard about kestrel from a song I listen to 'me and this can of kestrel are the best of friends' 😂. Ever since, I've loved it

Had two cans of this the other day not bad stuff tbf. Strong alcohol after taste but not overwhelming was surprised 👍🏻
This is my favourite cheap super strength lager. I like the taste, and it gives you a nice mellow feeling after you've drunk half. :-)

Loving your videos. I like the way you review mainstream stuff (ie Bud, Carling, the Aldi beers (my favourites) as well as fancy stuff
Appreciate it mate. Cheers 🍻

I remember drinking Super Kestrel and turning in to a Kestrel with super powers.
You sure a smack head didn't spike your drink? 😅

They've wrecked carlsberg special brew, the recipe and alcohol reduction etc..... No surprise the kestrel super and tennents supers are out in front!
Totally agree, I wouldnt buy it now!
Brilliant! Good on you.
award winning, what The Rab C Nesbitt Mashed Out of Your Head Award goes to...
Yeah I think so

Probably not mate. Just like some within the wine industry, a lot of craft beer keeno’s talk a load of nonsense. Cheers 🍻
Nice review mate! See if you can get hold of DEBOWIE
Kestral have went full circle, they used to make a really weak beer 2%ish i think and were known for it, now this lol, how much was it?
Think I paid £1.50 - £2 for the can
Review Snake Venom Beer! The strongest beer in the world.
Kevin
Karpackie 9% knocks the spots of this Scots brew , and I'm Scottish.🏴🏴🏴🏴
Me Mum like an occasional kestrel, she's in her mid 70s
