Awhile back when someone posted the full Dawntrail theme, I remember a comment saying "I wish they would go back to making REAL Final Fantasy music." Well, wherever that weirdo is, I hope he appreciates this bit.
Except they didn't "make" anything, this is a direct rip from FF9, even the compression of the track is the same as it appeared in the original game. The entire second half is full of direct music rips from FF9, that was kind of the point. Even Oblivion's theme is a remix of the theme of Tantalus.
I had a buddy ahead of me in the story and we both loved FFIX. It was hilarious because he spoiler free told me he was so happy about the IX stuff we hoped to see. I was like, "Oh I hope I catch the references! I'd feel silly if I missed it." "DON'T WORRY," he assured me. As soon as this song kicked in I was like, "Oh! Ohhhhhh. Hi Garnet?"
I'm so happy that some of the most iconic creations of Nobuo Uematsu are vastly unchanged for Dawntrail, because why would you fix something that's already perfect.
I like this theme. "Greetings and welcome to the Realm of Eorzea." "I am Eorzea's Champion and Warrior of Light Both and these are the Scions of the Seventh Dawn."
Once again, this song has to show up with the strangest timing... in times confusing yet whimsical. And in honestly, I greatly appreciated the moments of levity, creates a cautious optimism.
I literally had to hold back screams of excitement when this kicked up, for those wondering why, please play FF9, I have my gripes with its gameplay and some characters being shafted but oh my god it’s easily the best Pre-14 story
@@john_7000 I always love the differing opinions on the internet. I’ve not played 12 yet, it and 11 the only ones I haven’t. Yet I adore 6 as my favorite, 5 for its characters, gameplay and comedy, and 10 and 16 are pretty neck and neck for me as both great games with some annoying story issues haha
@@dbappio God... imagine if they tried to give us Tetra Master in XIV too. Like our TT cards doubled use. Give all the TT cards their own arrows and stats. Maybe even improve it to be more enjoyable.

I always thought of this as a more whimsical and comedic track, so it is funny to me that it is pretty much Sphene's theme.
I really liked sphene and i wish we got to spend more time with her.

I’m glad they didn’t remake most of the FF9 songs. Though the ones they did were fantastic!
The only way they could make the IX references more on the nose was to use Garnet's theme.
