The korbanth dark saber looks pretty good actually,it comes with a ring clip and the blade is accurate to rebels/clone wars and with different fonts you can change the color for it. I’m debating on getting the black series or the korbanth or both lol cause they both look amazing
The wobbly and flexing blade is a showstopper. It is possible Hasbro updated the blade design after complaints from early adapters. I would contact Hasbro to see if a blade replacement is available after the defect was found. The way the blade is mounted in the hilt could be loose and the plastic material might be too thin and flimsy. Tell them you are Boba Fett's cousin or a Gladiator Dark Wookie...that should scare them.
I love the saber, but this is my only gripe -- the blade seems flimsy and wobbles when I turn it. It even creaks. The blade is fastened in properly, I didn't mess that up. I'm just disappointed the blade isnt more rigid. I mean for $250, this should have a sturdier blade

Hey James great review, I wasn’t really into a dark saber replica but I might consider this one. Your dad channel got me back into lightsabers and Star Wars and thanks to you I got my first custom neosaber, you’re awesome James, keep it up
I think the volume of this saber actually makes sense, standard lightsabers definitely seem to have a lot more power behind them, thus making them louder, whereas the Darksaber (being one of a kind) always had a quiet hum, something unique and subtle, which is yet another reason why it's my favourite SW weapon
The Dark Saber actually is considered more powerful than a lightsaber. Something to do with the unique crystal used, it creates a unique bond with the wielder and actually becomes more intense with the emotions of whomever uses it.
@@zahktuthalxalyrion6364 yeah there are several different types of kyber crystals ranging different colors/powers there is a video on RUclips explaining it.
I like both, but, man, Hasbro needs to improve the blade fastening on their sabers. A reason I love all the legacy sabers is because they pop right in and out. For most of the elite Hasbro sabers, especially the Darksaber, there's a complicated process to secure the blade. And the Darksaber elite blade is really flimsy and wobbly.
I own the Hasbro Darksaber myself and when I insert the blade there's nothing flimsy or wobbly, all nice and secure. Might be a problem specific to your copy? Maybe you can still inform Hasbro so they can send you a fresh Darksaber 'cause when I insert the blade, even if I try to force it to wobble there's absolutely nothing moving whatsoever. I also own the Kit Fisto one wich also holds the blade very secure and without any wobble, so I guess the Hasbro sabers should be just fine in that regard.
@@CraftMotion I suppose I should say the blade itself flexes. It's secure in the lightsaber itself but if you wave the blade around, it flexes. It's not just mine either, go read the Amazon reviews, lots of people complaining about it. I'm not concerned about it though, my sabers are for display only.
@@z-3to204 Well that I can confirm. I was spending the last few days finding out how I can get the Darksaber blade straight again. I know, it's supposed to be thin, but a little bit more thickness would have helped. But like you said, when it's on display it doesn't matter and when you hold and use it you don't see it either. It's just my little nitpicky side that cannot look on a slightly flexed blade😅
@@myriadmediamusings Yes and no, there are two classes of Force FX Lightsabers: Force FX and Force FX Elite. The Elite features more advanced LEDs, not as cool as NeoPixel but still pretty neat, with blaster deflect and wall cutting effect, a nice metal display stand... You get the point, they're elite. However, they are more meant for display and photo shooting and showing off cool lightsabers than for Cosplay or Combat. Because of that none of the Force FX Elite has a Covertec Wheel or D-Ring to hold it on the belt and because of that Hasbro can afford it to make a Darksaber blader so thin that it bends. The regular Force FX series on the other hand, while still having an awesome look and quite well progressive ignition, are not equipped with additional lighting or any effects besides swinging and clashing. They also use a much cheaper plastic display stand. But they utilize Covertec-Wheels and D-Rings and come with a fitting belt clip. Cheaper, less features, but the abilty to wear it for Cosplay. That's pretty much what Legacy Lightsabers do as well. I would say, Force FX Lightsabers are the perfect Hasbro equivalent to the Legacy Line in SWGE, while the Force FX Elite tops both in price and features but is not inteded to be used outside of your home.
Finally was able to buy my Hasbro FX Darksaber and as you stated it has a nice weight to it and the blade is definitely more accurate than Galaxy’s Edge. I love it and it was worth the wait.
Nice Saber. I remembered you did a review on the Dark Saber where the blade was different. I like the one that had the lightening design on the blade. I could be wrong, but I want to say it does exist lol. Great review.
I always wanted to rig some flat speakers and have them on my body somewhere and maybe jerry rig the speakers by wire to hook into them OR they should start making them to where they can broadcast sound by blue tooth to an outside speaker in addition to the sound on the sabers speaker.
I’m seeing this for the first time, it looks awesome. I think the only downside for me would be having to unscrew the emitter piece to put the blade in. So for me, I’d give it a 4/5 death stars. lol
I just got my Black Series Darksaber yesterday. Beyond the awkward speaker positioning, I'm very satisfied with it. To be honest though, looking at how the blade connection is designed, I'm surprised nobody's made separate duel-ready blades for this Darksaber.
It appears.. it's not easy to make that with no design change because this is the only saber that has the shape of a thin Japanese sword-like saber. Neopixels are no exception as well. But most likely the current official/custom Darksaber's purpose is the nice visual.
@@ark7204 Apparently ES Sabers claims that their RGB Darksaber is duel-ready, but I'm not sure. Primarily due to the reason you mentioned: the shape of the blade.
The speaker location is why I cancelled my pre-order back in the day. I’m left handed and that was a deal breaker. I finally got a neopixel one from Neosabers and it’s much better.
I have this saber, and whenever I swing it hard enough to get a clash sound without hitting anything, the very beginning of the sound effect plays a few times. So instead of “kshssh” it’s like “kskskskshssh” is this a product deficiency or a solo issue?
So before I order mine I looked up a review your the first video that showed up and after a couple of minutes you already had me ordered and should be here in a few days
GameStop and Amazon are shipping these Black Series Force FX Darksabers. Take a 1-2 weeks to get them out the door. After getting a Darksaber and looking it over, it is an excellent piece of kit and a beautiful design. Lighting and sound effects are very nice. The floppy blade is still a serious design flaw. - The blade socket is a little loose, but thankfully there is nice thin brown cardboard stip in the packaging. Just cut a short 0.25 x 1 inch strip and slip it in the blade gap with the hilt, problem solved. The screw should only be hand tightened using the allen key. Two screws would have been better. But the screws go into the single hole in the hilt, plastic blade, and black cover piece....can't drill into the plastic blade. - The construction of the blade looks to be a 4-sided sandwich, so it is not a solid piece of plastic. It wobbles enough to make it impractical for lightsaber duelling with your favorite Mandalorian...cosplay is OK. Kids have to be more careful. You can try to tape a plastic or metal 1 foot ruler to the middle of the blade...to see if that helps. Then trim it and paint it flat black to resolve the blade wobble. Hopefully, in a year or two, Hasbro or a third-party will design a better blade.
Glad you’re happy with it, I was wicked disappointed.. waited almost 1 year to the day for it to get to my door.. the saber is painted in 2 different colors of black, the blade doesn’t illuminate down low near the emitter.. almost looks like the led is burned out, but that’s how all the blades are.. even with your hand not covering the speaker this hilt is WHISPER quiet… it’s super sized, they claimed this was laser scanned off the original prop, which it may have been but they then blew it up in scale.. way too big, way too quiet, weak blade illumination.. blade flops all over the place.. had to wait 1 year for hasbro to deliver it to my door when everyone else who didn’t order from hasbro got theirs, 250 bucks and they can’t even include a accurate d ring? There’s no off the shelf d ring at home depot close to being accurate.. wicked disappointed with this one..

Little but not main problem too is seems too much effort to put blade in and out
It would have been great had the speaker been put at the bottom of the saber like the others. I get that it is a different shape but you would think it would be possible to make one to fit. I canceled my order because the slits in the middle of the hilt bothered me so much
