Italian is the closest language to Latin. Spanish takes a lot from Latin/Italian, but an influence of Arabic.

Because French, Italian, and Spanish are romantic languages, languages that derive from Roman Latin.
When the Roman empire's territory spanned throughout most of western Europe, independsnt cultures and languages started to form over the centuries. Spanish, Italian, and French all follow Latin's grammatical structure.
@@8mmkyle865 Just like portuguese, which is my native language and it's also a latin language! It's actually really easy for us brazilian to understand spanish both spoken and written, which is something I find really crazy. We can actually have a deep conversation and understand each other if we write or speak slowly. I'm talking about portuguese speaker and spanish speaker. We can understand a little bit of italian if they speak slowly or write as well. And we can understand just a little bit of written french. I would say it's almost impossible to understand what they say in french without studying it.

I lived in Italy for one full year in the early 80's and absolutely love the Italian people and the language. They are the most friendliest people. Just about every day a knock at my door with a bottle of Vino meaning wine. They make you feel like family.

Grazie Lucrezia! I could pronounce the Italian phrases easily since they are similar to Spanish words, and I grew up with Spanish tongue. Not just that, I played the entire Ezio trilogy from Assassin’s Creed, which was mostly set in Italy.

Thanks for the video, just what I needed for a short business trip. Having English as my first language it can be difficult to learn a different language for every country you go to, then when you know a little bit of several different languages and you get a bit stressed you find your self saying thank you in Spanish to a Greek person. :)

I speak Spanish, and this is almost the exact same thing, that’s so cool. Sorta like Portuguese. I feel like these languages would be pretty easy to learn for Spanish speakers.
