Vimshottari Dasha is the most accurate predictive technique in Astrology and it is so valuable. I first started using it when I was doing a training in vedic Astrology, but after the couse I was definetely more inclined to use Tropical again, and I started using the dasha system for Tropical zodiac signs and Sideral nakshatras - everything changed from this moment, and this was the missing piece in my studies. I have an astrology diary where I note all importants events that happens in my life and their correlation with the dashas - and it always work. Another thing I do is calculating the Nakshatra dasha from the strongest planet in the chart. I have Venus as my final dispositor and the best placed planet in my chart and calculating the Dashas from it gave me so much insights about the unfoldment of my life. I am grateful for have found the dasha system and if had to choose one only technique in Astrology to use would be that one. Thanks for posting this interview.

    • @davidlodge8123
      @davidlodge8123 3 года назад

@@eagillum I agree, however you still have the issue how to assess dignities. Like a tropical domiciled Venus is a fallen sidereal Venus, or a fallen tropical Jupiter is a domiciled sidereal Jupiter etc. It seems like you have to choose one zodiac over the other to assess dignities.
Hank Friedman, the creator of Solar Fire, is one of the few astrologers who has been using both zodiacs for at least a couple of decades. His take from his experience is that the sidereal zodiac supercedes tropical when it comes to rulership and dignities. So if he sees a tropical Jupiter in Capricorn, he'd see that as a pretty good Jupiter because it's domciled in Sagittarius. He'd ignore it's tropical fallen condition. He also assess house rulership etc. only sidereally. However, he will still see Capricorn personality traits exhibited by that Jupiter, it just happens to be well dignified.

Yes...very significant, encompassing and fully evolving! Love it! When the concept of time becomes King Supreme, Father Cronus (time ticking) which is attributed to the Planet Saturn, we are curiously alerted to Mercury and Mathematics (language truths validated by numbers;) and why the latter 2 have been awarded the crown key play in Western culture science and hidden esoteric; a caution of significant concern flashes loudly when the 'love' heart Moon/Venus is absent from an auspicious wedding tie.

1:19:59 On the word “Aspect”: I think the easiest way for a western astrologer to understand how Vedic Jyotishis use the word is as follows:
Aspect / Drishti = the Sight a planet on other planets/houses.
Vs. Sambanth = Relationship that each planet makes with another….the traditional and newer quantum “western aspects” as western astrology uses the word.
When a Vedic astrologer uses the word Aspect, we mean “drishti” NOT “sambandh”
Western astrologers only use “sambandh” and call that “aspect”….thats where the confusion comes from.
Drishti is based on Astronomy and orbit and as such is an astronomical *fact* and so there are fixed rules for each planet….
    Saturn’s 3rd, 7th, 10th Drishti
    And
    Jupiter’s 5th, 9th, 11th (and maybe 7th I forget now) Drishti
    And
Mars’ 4th and 8th Drishti (there’s I think 2 more but the 8th Drishti of Mars is the more destructive one so I remember it)
Excellent interview 🙏🏼 I better unpause and keep listening ☺️

This was a great session. Thank you Chris. Although I had one doubt that required to be clarified by Freedom. He said that dasha means ten. But in my language culture here in India, I was given to understand that dasa means the number 10, whereas dasha means situation or circumstance. (The addition of the alphabet 'h' changes the word so there is a difference between dasa and dasha). So please do correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought the dasha system refers not to a number division, but to 'situations' that develop as a result of the movement of the planets. More accurately, in the sanskrit language, dasha refers to a 'state of being'.

The correct transliteration is daśā (as there are three variants of the ‘s’ in Sanskrit, it requires diacritical marks to be correct, but in English script dasha normally gets the point across). Colloquial languages have many variants from Sanskrit. From my understanding, daśa means ten (it relates to the Latin decas/Greek dekas, which gives the English decade). Daśā means a state or condition in life (generally fated) or a time period- but this goes back to the root of the time period marked by the sequence of 10s (numbers/years) as given by the planets, not like a state or condition in the sense of the word bhava. So your understanding is correct that the daśā system refers to states and conditions generated by the planets, but this is rooted in an astrological/numerological consciousness.

My educational background allows me to recognize England’s history of colonization and imperialism in this tendency to enunciate “things having places” within language.
