I thank God for His forgiveness! Even if I had experienced sexual abuse I too in my pain and suffering caused self harm and to others, but God in His wisdom didn’t put me to shame because the devil was really laughing at me. God allowed me to write poems about healing which led to surrender all my hurts and shame. I’m FREE 💕🌻🌻🙏

At least the family had somewhere to go. Some families may not be able to afford that luxury.
We grew up with spare the rod and spoil the child.
We're not bitter about the spankings. Now that our parents are both dead and we're all grown ups, we miss and love them deeply. We even joke about the spankings and pinchings.
Perhaps its the the third world syndrome of the 70s and 80s.
We know that God loves and forgives us but we still suffer the consequences of our actions.
David did. Abraham did as a result of his relationship with Haggar etc. Cause and effect.

Hi Pastor Goia, I'm fully understanding what your saying about forgiveness. Praise the Lord for He is long suffering and His mercy endures forever. But I am a little confused about what the Bible says regarding DISCIPLINING CHILDREN. In
Proverbs 13:24 it says, " He who spares his rod hates his son,
But he who loves him disciplines him promptly." 😳
Please explain this verse to me Pastor coz it seems like God is OK w/ punishment when they are still small children??? 🤔
I think the Bible mentions childhood because this is the best time to train them in the Lord.
Also the time when most children get disciplined. But adults get disciplined too, just different from children.
Discipline is necessary according the the Bible.
Forgiveness is necessary too. We just have to know how to balance them with the Lord’s help, in my opinion!

While I appreciate this story, I am trying to understand how discipline and forgiveness are “separate” from one another?
With the story presented here, a child can always say, mom and dad will forgive us… let us continue do all the mischief we want.
Discipline in Love - not anger.
Then let the child let know you don’t hold it against them and they have been forgiven.
I wouldn’t want to be bad again because of that punishment! But if I messed up, I know my parents love is unconditional as well.
