HI kelly first i want to say the employer should have told the staffs their jobs are temporarily and for how long...second i have a similar story to yours..at my workplace staff are coming back also and the employer have given notice to the staffs who are covering shifts but the staffs who were covering the shift are carrying feelings. For me example i was off and i went back to modify duties first but at the same time staff who covering my shift and knew it was temporary still carrying feelings and saying why did i came back i should stay home etc. So regardless how it turns out you going to have issues because the one that was holding down the shifts in their mines they are hoping the other staff doesnt return. But in your opinion i think the employer should fine jobs for the ones who they told it was permanent because its not fare.
Omg Im sorry to hear that this is happening to you but I know you and your strength your gonna be ok. Ppl are just desperate for full-time work and they got a taste of it and its heartbreaking to let it go.
From the pandemic started you guys have it hard. The least the employer could do is give staff 2 weeks notice. Once you loose your voice or they ignore the CB it's hard to have a voice, that's why your union is very important in the workplace. But keep strong you guys will figure it out.
