You have to get a job in Vietnam with a work permit and a TRC or get a Vietnamese spouse. They used to have lot more long term visa options back before COVID.
If you have a visitor's visa, you're a tourist. If you have a work visa, you are a migrant worker. If you have a residence visa, you are an immigrant. The word immigrant is not a dirty word so call it like it is instead of "Expat" to make it sounds better. Everyone should call this out.
I'm not a migrant worker or an immigrant. Expat or digital nomad are probably the most suitable terms to describe my situation. My wife is Vietnamese and I have a temporary residence card. We are we waiting for my wife's IR-1 to get approved so we can move to the USA. We are planning on buying an RV and travelling the USA for 5 years or so. My wife and I both work remotely for USA companies.
I love Vietnam, but I don't want to make a visa run every 90 days.

@@ericd1084 Since I left VN. I'm longing for the day I return. It's only my kids going to school which is stopping me.
What about a long term visa?
Very difficult to get a visa longer than 90 days unless you have a job or a wife here. Where are you from?
