I am most invested in Irving at this point. His outtie it’s gonna be such a bad ass this season, and apparently his.innie as well! Irv knew to be distrustful of Helly. I’m disappointed not seeing his outtie wake up at Burt’s door. I waited 3 years already for that!
Since you were listening for sounds when Helena goes down the elevator, what is missing is the "ding" sound the elevator makes. It does so for everybody except her.
And that 2nd ding is the last sound we hear at the end of the first season when Dylan gets tackled and our gang makes the switch. That sound is associated with the activation of the severance chip
Irving’s innie: 1) the map had Burt on it so he most definitely knows Irving. Burt knows what Irving is up to because he’s sitting outside the phone booth. 2) Irving’s outie knows his innie got his message because he’s at Burt place, the box was opened and the innie went into the bottom of the box and used the key.
Ya'll are some of my favorite reactors to Severance. I appreciate ya'll doing deep dives into theories and questions after the episode. Some reactors do not do that and its so frustrating. Also, LOVE the intro, it cracks me up every time now.
The breakdown of Helena in the bonus material was enlightening. She's jealous of Helly's free spirit and romance with Mark. Helly's life is actually better than Helena's.
In the first season you see Mark has to stop in the foyer for the secretary to make a call. She says "Are you ready for Mark Scout"? They may have to trigger the implant for each person. The security room shows who is using the elevator at any given time. Mr.Drummonds' fist is tatooed with the word Frolic. Hate to meet him in a dark alleyway. Love your channel.
Mark isn't being a jerk at Pip's. He's finally saying what he feels about his wife's death. He's dealing with the news about Gemma being alive the way he dealt with her death - he just denies it and buries his feelings. The Pip's scene is Mark at his most honest.
yeah .... he's still being a jerk, despite whatever reasons led him there, what he said was unfair, and a terrible thing to say to someone you love about someone they love. His sister actual WAS/IS "affected" by Gemma's death, and he just said that he wouldn't be affected if Ricken died. She loved Gemma, her feelings are genuine, yes, he had a closer and different relationship with Gemma that his sister never had, but that doesn't make it ok to call it "obscene" to say that the death of your friend and your brothers wife affected you. Then on top of him invalidating her feelings, basically telling her that she's not allowed to have emotions towards her or care, which is bad enough, he then says that HE WOULDN'T care if HER HUSBAND died. that's horrible. if i were his sister i would feel so alone. Her brother just told her he wouldn't even care if her husband died. wtf. She's owed an apology.
Huuuge stretch here but… the way Cobel reacts at the end about Gemma… it’s almost like she feels guilty for Gemma being “dead”… then you think to how every time they show cobel driving it’s extremely erratic. What if she caused Gemma’s accident 🤔
i personally feel gemma did die and they can reanimate her but not her soul/consciousness. I believe they need people that are linked through consciousness, memories, etc to extract the data that makes her gemma. This would also mean that the rest of the team knew gemma in some compacity as outies. which begs the question, how deep does immortality go with lumen if this is their goal? is it as far as these people being from different time periods which would also mean their outies are in some village type scenario to where the town is fake as well. it is owned by lumen, and sanctioned by the us govt. theyre practically their own country. Well see, if anything, helly is proven to not be helly this episode by the scene of the group heading down to the severance floor. Everyone had the severance changing sound effect but Helly. Its a clue in the sound design in my opinion, well see.
I so love you guys. I’m still in the midst of your recon, so sorry if you cover this later on: I have found myself wondering, with what this episode reveals, why it is that Dylan put himself through severance… ? I must say that I got a pretty significant fix from FINALLY (after, yes, 3 years lol) seeing the immediate impact of someone’s (this time Mark’s) innie right after the outie popped back in. THAT is what I was so thirsty for - at least the beginning of it. But holy crap, what’s Dylan’s situation?? And I’ve gone back and forth about how I feel about Devon, but I so completely dig her mama-bear-defense of her brother. And YES, Rickin friggin’ saying that the annoying arsehole “saved” the baby, AYFKM??!! That’s sus af. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to watch y’all’s reaction to each episode til approximately a day later but oh my goodness, how you guys DELIVER. Yum yum yummy!!!
We’re so pumped that you’re enjoying our reactions-it makes diving deep into Severance even more fun for us. Dylan’s situation is such a head-scratcher, right? We’ve been thinking one of his reasons for getting severed might be because of a sick family member-like maybe he needed the benefits or stability Lumon could offer. And with his spotty job history, it sounds like he might’ve been dealing with anxiety or something similar that made holding down other jobs tough. Severance probably felt like an escape hatch, but oof, what a trade-off.And yes, finally seeing Mark’s innie flip back to the outie and that immediate impact? So satisfying! We totally get watching our reactions later-this show’s so heavy, you need time to let it sink in! Thanks again for watching. Can’t wait to hear your take on the next episode! - Cam
@@ChannelSee1I agree! I think a sick family member, he only asked about healthcare benefits at the interview. And yes, something goes on that he can’t maintain long term employment
Melon Party!! 14:00 Maybe Helena is studying Helly R. so that she can get her mannerisms correct and pretend to be Helly R. I'm so torn whether it's Helly or Helena down there.
i don't think outie dylan is generally mean to his wife, it seems like he was just understandably frustrated and stressed in the moment. he follows up the conversation by offering to go shopping, and he clearly loves his kids, he seems like a nice person to me.
also lets be honest, even though devon is one the heroes of the show, she will not be affected by gemmas death as much as mark. it may have been "rude" or "weird to say," but it is the truth and for anybody. I could look at my sisters husband as a brother and mourn his passing but i know i wont be more affected than my sister or her husbands parents/siblings. Just saying, i understood it. Hes still a piece of 💩but ill come to think well see them all as piece of 💩by the end of the series. The point is that no one in this show isnt broken, thats part of the beauty of the propaganda lumen sells. The narrative of the show is more enrichened by showing dichotomy of societal loneliness & corporate enslavement of the soul.
I think the thing with Mark’s conversation with Devon, is that he’s not saying that she isn’t *as* affected as him, but questioning the idea that she could be affected, at all. He even says that he *wouldn’t* be affected by Ricken’s death but would be sad for Devon.
13:23. And it's not the 1st time. I appreciate the response. I think yall are hilarious & want to watch your content. That word just hinders the experience.
@@ChannelSee1 And just in case the argument is that it was used against a man: Calling a man a deregatory word for women in still an insult to women. As if being compared to a woman is a bad thing.
NOT THE MELON PARTYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY yall are so silly i swear
You guys crushed this episode! The melon and phrases... keep it up!
Man I woke up ready to watch this reaction. This show has me in a choke hold! Britt Lower killed this outie version of Helly. She's amazing.
@hiramcintron1906 Right? I LOVE Helly and HATE Helena. That's some good acting right there.

I'm sure we'll see it later
Someone in Twitter made a side by side of the elevator sense from this episode and the last episode, and it's a perfect match.
This show is made for me. Glad yall found the best show on tv rn, i almost guarantee, this show hasnt even reached peak yet.
Y'all's reaction to crazy ass Cobelvig has me crying 😭

The day he left early was when he was fired by Milchick, he was only there for about 15 minutes

So no one I’ve seen yet is mentioning the voice change in the guy who interviewed Dylan for his job with ‘Great Doors’.

28:57 🤦🏾♀️Why? Please refrain from using that term to describe a male character. Clearly that’s you guys being sexist, right? 🤷🏾♀️ 🤭😏
How long did it take to finish all those lemons💀
I love crunchy melon so much more than melon.
I don’t think Selvig is conflicted at all. She’s playing Mark yet again. It’s no coincidence she reappears after he gets his job back.
You’re listening for the wrong thing. There was no “ding” for Helly.
They listened to the right thing it just took them a minute lol
