This is super cool! There is a place not too far from my home where I go to find geodes in the creek beds. I have no idea where they really come from, whether they're in the ground itself there or if they just wash down the creeks from somewhere "upstream." My parents and I used to love going geode hunting when they were still around.
We've got these ultra-rare and valuable granite and limestone geodes here in the 'alpine' region of northern Delaware. On the outside they look like ordinary granite or limestone, but when you cut them open, we are often completely blown away by what's inside....... More granite or limestone! In fact, there isn't even a hollow inside, just solid granite & limestone....

i would crack open one of this geodes unter clinical circumstances and catch some of this water for having it analyzed.... maybe we find some bacterias or other stuff to help fighting cancer or shit like this...or what ever...but i want to know what was in the water a few million years ago
3:25 I can't believe these guys would be opening these geodes over a mat knowing they may contain ancient water. Is there any reason why that water wouldn't be valuable to researchers? From my perspective I would think that the water is a priceless specimen, even more valuable than the stone.
Yeah i agree they could study that and learn the conditions of the water and impurities the rock had when it formed and its molecular structure to see how the crystal lattice formed
how do you tell a geode from a rock. i want to try some agate and rock collecting this summer. i have half a 5 gallon bucket of agates. are there any agates that shouldnt be polished. any suggested reading or videos?
I would think they'd be lighter than they logically would appear to be. Also the water-containing ones you might hear when you shake. Like water in a coconut.
Water in geodes has been analyzed in the past. The most prevalent minerals found were calcium, iron and sulphur. I have opened enhydro geodes that released the smell of rotten eggs indicating hydrogen sulphide gas.
Good question. I think it would be difficult for anything to survive cut off from any sort of oxygen or energy source for hundreds of millions of years.
Trent Stigall there are plenty of species that inhabit zero oxygen environments. Geodes are ripe for bacterial examination as that water has been dripping in there for millennia. Kinda like Mexico or Calcutta.. Don't drink the water.. Too many bacteria. Bacteria feeds on other bacteria.
Man you should be bottling up that magic water and selling it in some fancy little glass bottles. They even sell beautiful Egyptian glass bottles on Amazon by the lot for cheap. Id buy a bottle for 15.

I am suprised you dumped the ancient water on the floor. hell I would buy that water, that shit is gold!

Wow this is the best work ... I love it ...it's nice
This Mine is were a large part of the book ( The Fabulous Keokuk Geodes was written and geodes dug from ).
The mine is located in St Francisville MO in the northeast part of the state. For more info contact Stephan Woodruff 217-847-3881
Cool video.
Everyone of them is so amazing,
LOL - nice but shot just before the first geode pops!
Nice I love it so nice
I would have collected and sold that "ancient mineral water"

You have a mine in St. Fransisville?
I have a geodes .I jast find bat eny water .I would cell it ???
Oh my God ...nice

or drink and maybe get super powers?
Whered you think the drink Crystal came from Lol
H2O perhaps
Is that geode have high price.?? I have one..
wonderfull
Harvest that water! Love to see that under a microscope☺
Is it a public mine or a private mine?
they should send that water from inside in a lab just to see what organisms are living in it

Veronica Fernandez Exactly what I was thinking.
Although enhydro geodes are very interesting they are not uncommon
ahhaha
Yeah i agree they could study that and learn the conditions of the water and impurities the rock had when it formed and its molecular structure to see how the crystal lattice formed
Possibly even find a microscopic colony in the water. Would be interesting to know.
awesome
catch some of that water and have it analyzed!
just what i was thinking about
Where is this mine and what does it cost? Great video!!
you should analyse the water .
COOL ROCKS!
lindos

水?為什麼?
What price.this.
Has the ancient water ever been analyzed ?
Water in geodes has been analyzed in the past. The most prevalent minerals found were calcium, iron and sulphur. I have opened enhydro geodes that released the smell of rotten eggs indicating hydrogen sulphide gas.
Would there be of any danger that ancient water may contain pathogens of an ancient accord. perhaps still viable.

Bacteria feeds on other bacteria.
Isnt all water on earth ancient water?
This hasn't been touched or recycled like all the water is.
We call them Thunder Eggs.
Thunder eggs are generally solid, geodes are hollow, and then it depends on where they are found. The two terms are used interchangably, generally.
❤️❤️💓💓❤️💎💎🤗😌
The best

very pretty
Why don't you try and save the ancient water from the geode and have it anylized for fun?!
Is this mine open to the public?
Yes Contact Stephan Woodruff 217-847-3881
2019 anyone?
I'd drink the water to be honest, what an experience it would be.
ANALYZE THE WATER!
it had water in it?! wow!
Hl, ❤️✌️🙋🏿♂️✌️
It looks like a coconut. Because the water inside looks like coconut water!
And the water isn't ancient. Water constantly leeches in and out ever since the gas pockets were created
