i’m all for modesty… but women shouldn’t dress modestly bc of men.. We should dress that way because that’s what we feel comfortable with

i dont want to attract any men, and my purpose when going out is not to find someone to marry. i just want to wear something that doesnt give me heatstroke on a hot day
It’s presumptuous to assume that we dress to attract men. We’re not all out here with our 1950’s mentality trying to catch a man. Some of us just don’t want to. Some of us don’t want to make it our whole personality to be married. Some women like their freedom. Being married these days is a joke for most. I know women married for 20+ years who’s men left them without indicating anything to be with their coworkers and others they’ve met while being just what you’re trying to promote. The world isn’t that way anymore and not shifting with the world is going to leave lots of unhappy women behind. Ladies, do what makes you fulfilled. You want that career? Work hard and go after it. You want a family? Go after it. Protect yourself and your finances. Make sure you have a cushion to land on if it doesn’t work out. If not being married fits you then that’s good too! Don’t listen to Internet personalities who have a one track mind and a very narrow view on the world. Some of these influencers don’t live in the same reality as the rest of us. They live in their own bubble.

The thing that bugs me the most about the conservative mind is the lack of nuance. Having respect for yourself and others is about way more than how you dress. "Modesty" isn't actually about how much skin you show. I wear a flattering one-piece suit to the beach and no one would accuse me of being immodest, but if I wore that suit to a funeral imagine the fall out. I live in a modest home. What does that mean? My house is not flashy or showy, but is warm and welcoming. Are you kind? Do you take an interest in others? Do you have manners? Are you polite? Those attributes say a lot more about you than what you're wearing.
You really need to make more modest fashion advice!! I'm 18 and I'm choosing to dress in a classic way, I could really use some fashion advice from a stylish woman like yourself.

I think the key here is what are you attracting. As a man I can say that some men are just pigs. Those are not the men you want. but dressing provacatively will attract those pigs more than not. If you are looking for a good guy, it may also warn them off if you are dressing provacativley as they are probably not looking for that type of girl.

Yes but where is the line? I hear this talked about all the time, but what is “modest”? Everyone always takes it to extremes one way or another.
Modesty is about knowing you are a gift to be given to a special person. 😊
“If you dress like a sex object be expected to be treated like one.” I’m sorry, what sex objects do you see women as? Plastic blow up toys? Handcuffs? Vibrators? If you see a woman embracing her sexuality as a healthy part of her and think “she’s a sex toy”, YOU are the problem not her.
Ive noticed I was toxic and had a lot of misconceptions about love. I took a year to work on myself and become a better man for those who are in my life. Now I notice the tasteless women who lust after the material items I possess but can’t say hello and keep up an interesting conversation.

It's fun to dress the way you want without being judged by people who can't mind their own wardrobe. (On a side note, in Mozart's "classical" time, ladies dressed wearing lots of cleavage and without panties.)
