The History of Prophets and Kings by Imam Abu Jaafar Muhammad Ibn Jarir al-Tabari (839-923 CE) gained popularity after it was translated into Persian in 963. A voluminous work, it has been described as a pivotal source of information for many generations of historians, especially pertaining to Muslim history and civilization.
