Just to clear some confusion concerning the windshield wipers. The wipers are independent and therefore, the engineer likely had his on while the conductor’s wipers were not on because there was no need.
Nice !! I rode in a Conrail SW-1 in the '70s at Gulf refinery in SW Philly. My brother & I went with our father in a propane tractor trailer from S. Jersey (a Louisville Ford) & when we arrived at the loading racks ? The Conrail engine was knocking cars on the other side of the rack. My father asked the crew if his boys could come up into the cab- the crew bettered that- they took us to a rail yard to swap out for more empty tanker cars. Both would never, ever happen today; being allowed into the refinery or getting a cab ride. The engine was an SW-1, all black with simple stencils for the road number and a "CR" as well- this was around '77 or so.... 🚬😎👍
This is coming out of Collinwood to the old connection to the Short line. I have pictures of the new connection and the old Quaker tower. They leveled most of the buildings along the fight side of the track with the coal tower.
This train is on the Cleveland Line going west through Collinwood, then south on the Short Line to the CUT/NIckel Plate /RTA alignment into the University Circle area.
Yes, the old Short line. This is the only track that only goes east. East towards the Cleveland line and east towards Collinwood. I use to work with Conrail.
Very nice video, did you sign a waiver for the cabride or did they just let you in there because i know they have inward facing cams in the heritage gevos
I asked twice before to get in the cab of CSX locomotives and was denied both times because, as I was told by the crews, it's against the rules of the company. How did y'all get this ride?
You all know this guy named Rat Tini is the worst locomotive engineer CSX has. He’s not only managed to brake knuckles on light power, he shit in the floor of a Yard Locomotive. And made mechanical clean it up.

Yep! Thats what it was!
Umm , you know that windshield wipers works better if you turn it on......
Why you don't need to see any traffic or keep the train on the track!
@@kerryrock9248Your comment made 0 sense.
@@Supgangy Made a lot of sense if you have ever been an engineer!
@@kerryrock9248use your brain. If you're trying to make a video, you turn the damn wipers on. Are you that thick skulled?!
@@SupgangyStupid
They didn't waste a second once they got out of that yard area. Impressive.
I was in the cab with him
i used to work the q640 q 641 in and out of collingwood yard as an engineer everyday out of New Castle, Pa.
Was very fun

Cool!
I'm impressed by how quiet it is inside the cab.🤔

Yep!
You got so lucky! Lol Glad I got to ride in the car behind
Yeah lol
So what was this train that people got to ride? Cool video!
Thank you for posting. I wish i could take a ride like that. Cool.
Interesting way to see the ride!
Why don't you have on your windshields wiper to see better on out the windows.. now you picking up some speed cool cab ride love it.
I didn't know Class 1 railroads allowed cab riders.
They don't lol 😂
@@bnsfbandit9807 *sarcasm*
I road some of these
Even got to run them some times.
Airplane pilot moonlighting as an engineer and conductor forgot about window wipers

Looks like the CUT.
@@davidkean1487 That make sense, I just don't picture CSX on that line. Hey, it's Cleveland, anything is possible here. Haha

@@davidsharp3110There is a NS connection. They use to bring trains in when it was Conrail.
Thanks, I live in CLE and have been following the rails since 1974.@@kerryrock9248
Awesome video. Thanks for sharing
Very Relaxing Ride
They must use rainX on the windshields. Shedding water nicely without the wipers.
I love working in collinwood! I dont get the opportunity much anymore lol.
Would have been a great video… But someone forgot to switch the windscreen wipers on 🤬🤬
Actually they are manual and because of where we were running, nobody was needed in the conductors seat.
Best cab ride ever
Hey Niko
Nice video Just subscribed...
I love trains. I love to be first car at gate.
Why is it almost every cab ride vid has rain on the windshield
Bad luck I guess lol
cab connection
Tyler Mac now it’s my home
Do the wipers work together like a car or independent?
Independent
Was this part of the open house that they had on August 12
Yes
How did u manage the cab ride
Most railroads have wavers for it
CSX Family Days
Try the windscreen wiper
Tyler Mac yeah
Very nice video, did you sign a waiver for the cabride or did they just let you in there because i know they have inward facing cams in the heritage gevos
It was CSX Family Days, so they were letting a few people ride in the cab for a bit.
They don't do that kind of stuff on the east Coast around Delaware.
@@railroadenthusiast6246 damn
You know the crew?
Family Days
Awesome video thx for sharing new sub.😊😊👍👍
Thanks!
Nice! So this is the Conrail heritage unit?
Yep!

CSX Family Days, CEO was there and allowed it
How the hell did you get on
CSX Family Days
You all know this guy named Rat Tini is the worst locomotive engineer CSX has. He’s not only managed to brake knuckles on light power, he shit in the floor of a Yard Locomotive. And made mechanical clean it up.
He also sued CSX for the locomotive horns in n the locomotive cab hurting his little pawl. What a joke
Lol!!! Rat Tini doesn’t know love make from train breaking lol!!!
That guy sounds like he is something else, is he out of Cleveland I may know someone who works with him!!?
Would not surprise me with a rat name..
Is that Joe Hinrichs talking?
No. It's me!
Lucky
Were the wipers not working?
They were manual and nobody was operating them
Hmmmmm this is seems very in fra friendly
Yeah I could name a few violations lol
Are you a conductor for Csx
No I'm still too young
How is this allowed ??
CSX Family Days
Who is the kid?? And how the HECK did he get the privilege to be rolling down a main line track??
CSX Family Days
Kid was me
The inside of CSX 1976 may still be intact. But it should be fully painted. NOT PAINTED IN PULLING OUR HERITAGE BEHIND US THEMED!
You can't see shit cause they were to lazy to turn on the wipes
You don't need any wipers, man.
Too much yapping, seems like a safety distraction.
It was a family days event
Turn on the damn wiper!!!
Thank you for posting. I wish i could take a ride like that. Cool.
