I love the rock sound of Hammond, especially the Jon Lord sound. This is the best sound I've ever heard on RUclips. Of course your playing skills are excellent! This is the right music with soul and heart
@@MysharrrOne the one hand: yes, even performing additive synthesis. On the other hand: no. It lacks filters and envelopes. You could regard the Leslie as sophisticated LFOs though.
Amazing that you nailed the sound from "Masters from the Vault" (Granada Television Studios/Manchester, 1970). That particular Hammond C3 (and Leslie) Jon played there was fantastic - as is your A100 (with a C2/early C3 bench with quaterfoils) and Leslie (147?)! Outstanding playing as well!
thank you. I love this superb concert called Masters from the Vault and this WTN intro is just so good and beautiful. Jon shows here everything what hammond could do and it move us into beauty 70s. My setup is 1961 A100 with 70s leslie 145.
@@tomaszzien1799 The Child in Time version from that concert is also magical. Hold on to that organ/Leslie and never let go - those early 60ies consoles are among the best sounding ones ever built. That C3 I mentioned must have been from a similar production time as the tone is more or less identical - which is a very rare coincidence. The mindblowing thing is that the Granada performance took place 52 years ago.
What a performance! Loved your interpretation of the "doing their thing" organ break, and the song itself. Sick! If I may ask, what ring modulator are you using? The drive you're getting just sounds so incredibly authentic, especially for that live 70s era!
thanks so much! Doing their thing that was superb performance with a lot of amazing Jon's notes. This is home made ring modulator -copy of mestro rm1. Its nor working properly and Im looking for.original one:)
@@tomaszzien1799 Interesting! Thank you so much for the response. Been looking for years for a way to make a rm1 copy as well, but here in brazil these kinds of things can be difficult to figure out.
Excellent performance!!!! I really need to get some more Jon Lord in my record/CD collection!!! Man cannot live on Made In Japan and Machine Head Alone! Also need to plug in my A100 again!!! That was awesome, Tomasz!!!! playing! Now I want to find the original and buy the album!!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Seriously awesome! And that’s the word “AWESOME” used in its proper sense- as to be in “awe”, not simply meaning to be good, or “totally rad man!” That organ sound is spot on Jon- circa 1970, as it should sound. I’m sure those boxes atop the organ on the left have a lot to do with that grind, but the organ itself supplies a lot of that too I reckon. Is that an A-100? Wanted to say I threw together a version of “Wring that Neck”, but not anywhere as good as yours. Carry on sir, and I’d love to hear other things you play.
Nice job! I was thinking that it sounded like "Hard Road" that one of my bands played back in the 70s. Then I did some research and found that "Wring That Neck" was titled "Hard Road" in the U.S. 😃
@@tomaszzien1799 Because the record label in the U.S. thought wring that neck sounded to violent, so they changed to hard road. The stupid thing is that it had nothing to do with wringing a person’s neck. It was about wringing the neck of a guitar.
As good as Jon Lord, Thank you. I can imagine smile on Jon Lord's face.
That is legitimate ‘Doing Their Thing’ organ tone!

Altamente inspirado !! ! !! A essência de Jon Lord.
very very good job !!!!
0:39 - “Wow-Wow!” I love that windmill-chop sound on the lower manual.
No synthesiser comes close to the sound of a Hammond. Beautifully played.
Isn't Hammond technically also a synthesizer?
