I remember the first year when China started building High Speed Railways, the western media claimed no Chinese could afford to buy the tickets. Oh dear, how wrong they are.
Western media couldn't think that a country can provide services to its people without thinking about profits first. The Chinese government gives big subsidies to the HSR so that citizens can buy tickets at a lower price. This kind of concept is totally unknown in Capitalist West.

When I went China to build Data Centers, I used 2000 RMB server racks 20 years later, they both are still standing but once cost less than $300. The lesson of the story is that people in China don't waste resources they only care about efficacy and efficiency.

I've been on trains here where it was hard to drink the nice train coffee because the whole machine was shaking so hard.
