In high school they told me to take Spanish instead of German because Spanish is so much easier. Lies! German has one form of conjugation and once you learn a few dozen simple and common irregular verbs then you know them all. Spanish has two forms of conjugation (ar and ir/er) and some individual verbs have two dozen irregular cases! You never stop learning irregular Spanish verbs. Just this week I learned teñir (to dye) and volcar (to knock over) and, yep, both are irregular. Learning this language seems impossible.
True! Lot's of irregular verbs in Spanish but it is not imposible (practicing stem changers is a good place to start 💪🏽) I thought German was hard because of vocabulary. They have some crazy long words for sure haha. Teñir and volcar are fun verbs, nice work! I personally don't hear teñir as often as I should. A lot of people opt to say pintar (to paint) instead. Still works if you are on the spot and forget which stem changer to use 😉
@spanishwithazalea German is aglutanitive so the big words are just small words combined. That makes them easy to remember and easy to guess. Spanish has many many long words that are four or five random syllables. In German you say "zu" but in Spanish you say "demasiado". For slippery you say "rutschig" in German but in Spanish you say "resbaladizo". There's really nothing I like about Spanish.
@scottlarson1548 true, every language has its own challenges. I love German, though! All we can do is keep practicing, and we’ll start to see the patterns and connections. ¡Buena suerte!
Me gusta mucho esta lección!! gracias!
Gracias a ti!
