I tried to play the french for the first time after watching the video (Ironically my opponent allowed "the very super messy line" at 9:04 xD) and it paid off incredibly well.     I like the French, I’m rated in the 500's (I know, I suck lol) but I try to use this system whenever I can. At that level sometimes it's hard to get the setup because the person playing white just throws random crap at you messing it up. Bringing their bishops and knights way out, moving them all over the board not following any opening principles ect... I usually lose games lol however when I do get to use the French properly I win
