The defendant sister sounds like all she did was complain, complain, complain!!! The defendant sister should have been helping. The plaintiff sister did all the shopping and cooking except for the dessert. The defendant sister is not a woman of her word. I'm sure their mother would be disappointed in the defendant sister not paying her older sister for her half of the celebration even though she promised to pay. 2nd part with sisters cooking. I am sorry you lost your Mother. She sounds like she was the ''Glue'' to holding together the family. Laugh this Off!! Laugh that the potatoes were undercooked, No rosemary. Dessert burnt!! laugh. Your Mom didn't cook it!! you did! Your mother was the cook and she was probably smiling at you both that you tried so hard together. Younger sister was a grouch, probably was painful for her that Mom is gone. But you are the one that ruined it. Not the older sister. Laugh about the great memories you had with your Mom. Hug each other and try again next year. I am sure that everyone that was at the Dinner enjoyed themselves (except for the younger sis), because it wasn't about the Food. It was about your Mom, memories, smiles. fun. (We don't get over mourning a Mom in a year. you can still mourn, but don't be mean to your family, They are all you have).
