    I enjoy every thing you do with your car 👍 the tutorials are very much helpful. I have a 2009 sky and i love it. Some of the issues i had with it, were the ones you came across and i watch everone of your videos to help me out with mine. Keep up the great work, i dont see much if not any sky/solstice where i am. But on a side note, have you had any problem/issue with the convertable top not folding down properly? Like instead of putting it down and its flush so you can close the trunk with ease, the top sticks up a bit and you have to like push it down to make it fit into the trunk so you can close the trunk properly. Any tips?

      The only time I've had that happen is when it's cold out. I believe the material stiffens up a bit making it harder to close all the way. You may, however, want to do a good cleaning and protection on it just to make sure it's ok. I have a video on doing that as well.

      I was thinking about doing that, but I wanted to compare the LEDs with something you'd get in your car from the factory.

    Thanks Mike. Your video fromm year ago had a measurements of 261 ft for the led lights you replaced your previous led lights. Does this mean in a year the output has decreased by 100rt for the led? Keep up the great work
    Cheers

      Hi Daryl, Thanks for watching my video. Looking back at that previous LED video, it was 241 feet. So basically 60 feet longer than from this video. A couple of things may have been a factor. 1. LEDs do lose their brightness over time, so there was most likely some of that going on even though they are only 1 year old. 2. I was measuring to a box that the light was shining against in this video, but where I believe the light beam was ending on the road in the previous video. So I'm sure there was some margin of error on the previous one. However, you do bring up a good point that LEDs lose their brightness over time until they die. But Halogens stay bright and then suddenly die with no warning. Thanks for your observation. I have another video that I'll be doing with LEDs and I'll mention this.

    Did you find you had to turn your LEDs to get the same shape as the halogens?

    • @MikesHouseOfMods
      @MikesHouseOfMods  Год назад +1

      Yeah. You want to make sure the leds are side to side and not top to bottom. You can simply turn on the lights once installed and you should be able to make sure that way by looking at them.

    I would always get high flashed by incoming vehicles while running my LEDS on my Solstice. I would think the projector style in the sky would be better.

    • @MikesHouseOfMods
      @MikesHouseOfMods  Год назад

      Hmmm. I've never had that problem....and that's with the switchback lights, regular headlights, and the small driving lights in the corners of the housing. Doesn't the Solstice have projector style housings?

    Nice concept but poorly executed, IMO. First, you didn't provide any specifics about the halogen bulbs to tell me how powerful they were: lumens, wattage, etc. For the LED bulbs, it says they are 300% brighter than the halogens. By what measure? So, it's difficult to tell if this is a fair apples to apples comparison or apples to oranges match-up. Frankly, I'm disappointed to see that a "300%" brighter bulb only yielded a ~50 foot improvement in distance. Unfortunately, the video quality was such that I was unable to see when the box was first visible in either case. Maybe it's my eyes and not your video, but I couldn't really get a feel for the difference between the 2 tests.
    Specifically, I have been trying to find out how far a 1700 lumens halogen bulb will illuminate the road ahead and then compare that to what the best LED can do. Finding such a raw measurement for the 1700 lumens halogen has been very difficult - lots of word hype about power, but no actual raw data to use for comparing to other types of bulbs. I would then enjoy a re-do of the test in this video with the brightest legal halogen matched against a comparably strong LED.
    Thank you.
