Hopefully they will spawn soon. Nice to have met you and your good lady. Thanks for your support taking the time to watch and comment. Good luck with the mota's.
Love the Jags very beautiful, you guys on the other side of the pond are so lucky you have those really nice large river stones. I can't find them for the life of me. The red Dovii are stunning can't wait to see yours as a full grown specimen. Great video Andy
Andy I always watch your videos all the way through and thumbs up I wish you could post everyday! I have a pair of RTMs right now that are about two inches I’m so excited about.
Thank you for watching until the end, i appreciate your support. Good luck with your mota's they sure are beautiful fish to keep. Happy fishkeeping to you sir.
You can always rely on a`Woods waffle` to lift your spirits, just had to remove my 14" male Festae so i needed something to restore my enthusiasm & this was just the job cheers.
Hi Andy thanks for another great video I hope the new fish are still doing good let's get next week's video maybe a feeding video including the two new fish. thanks
Yes Andy my experience with the parachromis species is also quite similar. I have kept the 3 species of them out of which the RTM's were the most fiesty ones.
Love your videos Woodsy especially the Trimac I had some many years ago here in Australia 🇦🇺 but they are very hard to find here these days. If there’s anyone here in Australia that knows where I can get a couple I’d be most appreciative. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺
I use sponge filters only.. I love them, highly efficient low maintenance and totally reliable, and also very cheap to buy and run, important when you have so many tanks. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment
Hi Andy great video as always. I have a 96x30x24 tank with 3x9 inch Oscars 1x Jack Dempsey and 7x3 inch loisellei and 6x4 inch Jags, 2x3 inch Fredrichstelli and lastly 2x5 inch RTMs they are all living happily together! I want to keep 2 Jags,2 RTMs 2 Freddies and 2 loisellei plus JD and Oscars, could I get lucky or is there trouble ahead for sure?? 11 fish in all.
When that lot reach good sizes your going to have world war 3 in your tank. It may be OK to grow them all out together at first to sex and pair them, but after that there's going to be trouble. Thanks for watching and good luck with your tank.
@@andywoodscichlids2942 Thanks Andy I can section off my 8 foot and put Jags in one side and RTM in the other they will have 120 gallons each pair should that be OK for a couple of years? then in the 6 foot divide again and have Loisellei and Freddies, they will have 75 gallons each pair what sort of size do you think trouble could start?? Thanks for your help.
Where my experience differs is that my RTM's were very brutal from the start. Even the little juveniles were quite fiesty when compared to my jags and doviis. My jags and doviis wern't that aggressive even when they reached their adult sizes.
I had the exact same experience with RTMs. I've kept every species of parachromis and bred dovii, RTMs were way harder on each other. The day after their first fry hatched the male bit the female so hard it damaged her swim bladder. I spent months trying different meds but eventually had to euthanize. Don't think I can keep a pair of them again despite how beautiful they are.
That's unfortunate for you, but it doesn't surprise me, there evil on one another. Hope I don't loose one of mine. 🤞. Thanks for taking the time to watch and share your experience with me. Happy fishkeeping to you sir.
Hi friend I have some datnoids a big male a it's mature enough to mate but I recently bought a female dovi and I didn't want to put her in the tank with my male just yet fatten her up she laid some eggs and now the datnoid has fertilized the eggs a hybrid you think they may make it
Can't see this happening. All central cichlids can hybridiz together. But Datnoids are not even a cichlid and really breed in captivity, only in large outdoor ponds.
Nice video in fact I enjoy all of your videos..... I am a big fan of Trimac and have 2 pairs.... One pair which I currently have in a divided tank just spawned through the divider ..... Check it out if you'd like I posted videos of it.....
Loving the pair Andy thanks to you, settled in nicely cant wait for a spawn from them 👍
Hopefully they will spawn soon. Nice to have met you and your good lady.
Thanks for your support taking the time to watch and comment. Good luck with the mota's.

Andy, just wondering where have you picked up the fish tanks you have the Umbee and Wolfy in? Great video by the way Wacky WOODS!
Beautiful RTMs. so much prettier than a Jag to me.
Got to agree, they have some beautiful colours. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment.
You're crazy. I enjoy it though. You sure have beautiful cichlids

Hope someone gets back to you mate. Like you said trimac are stunning fish. Good luck finding some.
How are you finding the temperatures in the tanks in the bungalow now you unplugged the heaters ?
I love your fish.
😍
love the trimacs
Hi Andy. I totally agree about how brutal the rtm’s are. I bought 6 to hopefully get a pair and they killed each other which left me 2 males.😩lol
That was unfortunate and disappointing for you. Stunning fish though. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment Happy fishkeeping to you sir
Cheers Andy. I’ve not had not a lot of luck with rtm’s but I’ve got up this morning and my red dovii have spawned. 😊
Andy are you ever gonna do a live feed? I’d like to see one with a Q&A about anything..
hello Sir, do you use extra filter in your fish room other than the sponge filters (Barrel, Churchill, RTM etc)
I use sponge filters only.. I love them, highly efficient low maintenance and totally reliable, and also very cheap to buy and run, important when you have so many tanks.

@@andywoodscichlids2942 everytime, Sir. Thought your gonna show us the new cichlid:))

4 Parachromis pairs together? Massacre is about to happen in some stage.Just wait for jags or motas to spawn.

Do you think a single male RTM can be housed in a 75 gallon?
I would say yes. Others may disagree. 75 gallon would be minimum
@@andywoodscichlids2942 thank you good sir for the answer

4ftx18x18 there still quite small, I may need to update in a couple of years.
