These are a great study tool, way better than standard flash cards. Especially since most of these common kanji should be memorized, and can be used to recognize parts of more complex kanji
Omg, im so happy. Ive been studying grammar for about a month, I only missed 5 kanji in total (that I didnt know how to read or what it meant). This boosted my confidence and motivated me even more. Thanks, loved this vid :D
I'm learning Korean and Mandarin. It's quite interesting that some 漢字 are closer to Korean and some are closer to Mandarin. For example, the days of the week are exactly how they are in Korean, like 金曜日, 木曜日are 금요일 and 목요일 in Korean, but in Mandarin those words are considered archaic. And some characters are not found in either, like "to read" is 讀 in Mandarin
Chinese letter has a lot of shape even if each one is same character. For example, 讀(to read) has three types of writing in formal norm. TW(繁體字): 讀 JP(新字体): 読 CN(简体字): 读
@@RT-qm1tx you're right. What I meant was that some variants are almost exclusively used in some languages. For example, the Japanese variant of 讀 is never used in 臺灣 as far as I know
Definitely helps revising what I did last year. I've moved onto N1-N3 kanji and kind of neglected to keep revisions of N4-N5. Recognising the meaning of the symbols is simple but remembering the kun'yomi is a little more tricky.
I'm learning mandarin since 3 months ago. Wow, japanese really import hanzi from china. And people are right when you learn chinese first, it will makes you learn kanji faster. Even though the pronunciation is totally different, at least i can guess the meaning and remember it faster. Merci pour la vidéo. C'est super !
I managed to get like 50% of these with both meaning and pronounciation after two weeks of using anki. Some of them I even knew the meaning, but forgot the actual japanese word for them, at least I know what to focus on. This is WAY better than any source on beginner kanji I've found so far - complete with images, pronounciation, meaning, furigana and even romanization. Truly amazing to fit all of this information in such concise form in just 16 minutes.
If you want study seriously, I highly recommend the 'Japanese Kanji Study' app (next to using anki of course). There are exercises from N5 to N1, and it also includes onyomi and kunyomi readings, as well as context in sentences and the only dictionary you'll ever need. While this video is great and tests the basics, it lacks a bit in completeness and might be misleading in making people think this is only it, even for these beginner kanji. One example, 行く (いく), (ゆく) 行う (おこなう) 行為 (コウイ) 行 (ギョウ) And more...
