    Listened to this piece last 30 years, but never such beauty before. This sounds like I am listening to this piece for the first time, this performance surpassed all previous recordings that I know of. Thank you Narek, and best of luck to you.

    The cello player has to be an emotional wrack after such intense performance. He is completely consumed by the music. Watching him gives me chills.

    Terrific, heart-felt playing from Narek Hakhnazaryan. There is a huge cut in this performance (15.15 as against Rostropovich's 23.30).

    hommage à la grande Natalia Chakhovskaia qui avait succédé à Rostropovitch et dont on ne trouve malheureusement pas assez d'enregistrements

    Great soloist, weak orchestra
    EDIT: to clarify, the sound is not bad but a lack of articulation and clarity aren't quite what kachaturian had in mind
