It's a good entry point to Splinter Cell series; every level could be played ghostly stealth or aggressive stealth. If you like the ghostly approach you can then try the older games (1 to 3) but if you like the aggressive style, mark and execute you can try Conviction (the game before this one)

Ubisoft makes amazing games. The depth and quality of the level design and gameplay mechanics of their games far surpasses those of Rockstar. If want a pretty looking gamenwith tediously realistic physics..if you care about all these things superficial things then play a Rockstar game but if you want a gamers game which encourages and fosters player creativity, play a far cry game
Ubisoft focused on improving gameplay with each entry. That was former ubisoft. Ubisoft now copies and paste the same fucking mechanics and missions on a bloated map. Rockstar isn’t really strong in gameplay not counting max payne 3 (best rockstar game). But they make up for that with amazing storytelling, characters, graphics, immersion... RDR2 had its flaws but its far better than anything ubisoft made in the past 10 years.

In what way can they improve the already impressive shooting mechanics? In what way can they improve the already impressive stealth mechanics? Every new ubisoft game has some improvements in gameplay but ofcourse they are not going to substantially change something that already works. And that is not just ubisoft. That is 90 percent of the developers on the face of the earth. How is gameplay being substantially changed in Horizon Forbidden West? Or Dying Light or Gears 5 or any franchise ever? Each entry in franchise is supposed to have similar gameplay while making small tweaks and adjustments. What is required is a new setting and a new context and a new story and some more nuance to the already established gameplay mechanics. Even then they are making enough bew improvements in the new Far Cry 6: It looks like an amazing game all around. Here is what I have noticed. The physics is amazing. Amazing setting. Amazing traversal options (horses, cars with nitrous, ATVs). Amazing realistic reloading animations. The knife takedown animations are back finally. And they look brutal as hell. The guns have an authentic homemade feel to them. This disc launcher thing looks cool as hell. It plays songs but also kills. The protagonist isnt mute anymore. The sound design of the guns also sound very punchy and realistic. The rocket launcher on the back of the protagonist is out of this world. The pet crocodile with a golden tooth.

Max Payne 3 doesnt have the same sensibility, atmosphere, personality and style that Max Payne 1 and 2 had. They turned Max Payne into another generic GTA protagonist
you need to play more games if you think Ubisoft makes amazing games, they make the most generic ass games on the market. Once you've played one, you've played them all Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, Watch Dogs, The Division ect all use the same shitty formula where it's just copy and paste bs, none of them feel different from each other anymore and all have bland stories with terrible writing
Though it's not as good as the OG splinter cell, it had its own interesting ideas on the franchise that still felt like they belonged with splinter cell unlike conviction.
One of the biggest differences between old Ubisoft and new Ubisoft is the animation of the main character. Sam’s movements in this are so perfectly blended you hardly ever see the seams between animations. For Honor was probably the last ubi game that looked as good animation wise. Something definitely changed in their overall approach to PC anim systems

This game was a breath of fresh air after Conviction. I really enjoyed it. I liked the story of Conviction but the gameplay was lazy and dull.
