I have tightened the zero adjust a little more and it can sometimes give the spool a little more control without sacrifice lenght… Don’t know if it makes sense or even works with bass lures… It works on slim seatrout lures (28g) and casts +80 meters.
Bigger spools do have there uses, I have a couple Conquest 200's with 38mm super fast spools that have a very free feel to them. Casting heavy baits and pitching is a joy with it.
I have the same reel and the same issues. I'm no beginner by any means but it's still discouraging to spend so much on a reel and it be so temperamental.
Trouble with hlc . Had line varivas 1.5 PE snap on 10. With 1 .5 oz riser jack lure . Was OK on 14 , then 12 . Damn , I been baitcasting 20 years ..any thoughts? Think the varivas line is kinda frail though too..
I had varivas 1.5 on mine too. I would get crazy distance but randomly my knots would snap on the cast sending my lures to space. I just switched to a thicker braid, 40lb sufix 832, and I've had far fewer issues with backlashing and breaks but I get less distance...
@@lnelms2 listen , just keep adjusting the brakes . I have between 10 and 14 for 1.5 oz or more . Btw, I also bought Antares DC 21. So after 100 casts minimal with HLC, zillion 1000 HD also and Antares , I can honestly say Anda is by far superior! Never thought I'd say that .. I can't stop casting with Anda , wow 😲😲😲😲 , occasional backlash also but , heyyy?it's just different, a phenomenal machine
I have the Zillion HLC, it’s a terrible reel. I also have the Tatula and it’s far better to use. The HLC could have been a heaps better reel if they gave it a steeper ramp on the mag adjuster so it moved the magnets further onto the spool

Fishing guage looks decent. Good luck, tight lines

Switching the spring around helped greatly
One trick not mentioned much for controlling very fast/unruly spools, is using a heavier viscosity bearing oil.
He's not lying 😅
Does this steez hlc have the line pull drag clicker?
I am wondering what settings you are using (breaks/zero adj).
It's for aerodynamic lures.
Avatar?? Need a Bonsia fireball live tonight
